I dont think the club should sign an attacker for 'goals'. Keep buying players who fit the system, who run and press well, and the goals will eventually come. Last thing we need is another 'goalscoring' signing that will compromise the system-based players we have

I believe the same, should not panick after one bad result. Especially against West Ham who are very hard to play since they just hoof the ball and score a lot of set pieces.

Let's just continue to sell some players, get the Goalkeeper we was going to get and that's about it for now.

I don’t know if it’s intentional or not but all of your posts come out in German.

We have been buying players for one system or the other for 6 years and not gotten goals out of it. If a system has no place for a natural goalscorer it is not a winning system. Haaland does little except score goals vs relegation fodder/mid table sides. Yet he plays for the best team in the world. We saw not only va westham but for the better part of the last few years what it means not to have a goalscorer. But I agree that we should not spend on someone with an ok goalscoring record just for the sake of it. We either buy a striker that contributes with a solid all round game AND scores or just accept that we will finish mid table for the foreseeable future but take that chance to develop a proper striker ourselves

Just saw Balogun is American. Can't think of another reason why club wants him. After Adams deal collapsed they go for someone else. And he end up in Bournemouth just to show you where is their level.

If we want an American least get Gio Reyna who actually has talent unlike this crap Balogun.

Some of our supporters really think this kid from New England is going to come in and immediately bench Sanchez. 🤦‍♂️

We didn’t just pay £25m for a keeper, allow Kepa to leave at the drop of a hat, and give him the #1 shirt in the span of a week only to immediately replace him after 2 matches.

But its the same thought from people thinking that guys with one good season in a mediocre league like Kudus from Ajax or Chekri or Barcola who both come of one half decent season in France, are going to come in and instantly elevate our attack scoring a lot of goals or providing a lot of assists…. benching players like Sterling or Mount/Havertz last season etc. It is a worrying trend.

There seems to be a real hard on for u23 players and this insistence that they will fix what the issues are here. Which is a lack of proven top level quality and guaranteed output from players, in a squad where 65-70% of the players are probably 23 and under.

I mean as soon as our fans see age 18-23 and what looks like a good season, these players are instantly the answer.

I’d imagine this guy will be a number 2 thats for sure.

In the case of a new attacker I do actually think there’s 1 spot in the first XI up for grabs for a player to come in and instantly start. Especially now that Carney is out for who knows how long.

Poch clearly doesn’t think Mudryk is ready yet. So a new attacker I think goes straight in with Jackson and Sterling I guess.

Theres no doubt a new attacker is needed. But proven quality, be it someone to play as a 9 or more withdrawn as a left winger or an attacking midfielder as Nkunku’s out. No more one hit wonders or projects like Kudus, Chekri, Barcola, whoever. We need players who can score goals and assist them regularly this season, not in 2026 or 2030 or whatever. We have enough projects in attack - Jackson, Broja, Noni, Mudryk.

Only Nkunku and Sterling are really proven at a competitive level in our attack, add another player with that experience and pedigree and we may have something to work with. Sterling has certainly looked a totally different player these first 2 games.  Nkunku looked good pre-season.

Carney has impressed with Poch and may have something to offer this season. If we got a good left sided attacker, Carney could be Nkunku’s direct competition perhaps? Lets see how he comes back from his injury.

Would say he’s done much much more than Mudryk has in a Chelsea shirt. I mean there is nothing there with Mudryk that makes me think he will ever be worth half of what we’ve paid never mind all of it. A £80m + package for someone with 40 games in his whole career, in Ukraine, definitely looking to be a much more embarrassing deal than us paying £50m for a shot Torres in 2011. He would maybe make a good olympic sprinter.

Nice to have another Serbian in Chelsea again. 4 of 5 titles in Roman era came with having at least one. Kezman, Ivanovic, Matic.

And second keeper. Borota was Chelsea POTY in 1981 with cult status. Let's hope Petrovic follow his steps.

Honestly, we should just re-integrate CHO into the first team squad.   All this talk of Barcola and these other youngsters won't make us better.  Liverpool actually did it better than most by going after Diaz/Jota, both of them have that spark to ignite the attack throughout the game, why can't we find a player like that?

We could have gotten Diaby from Leverkusen or Barnes from Leicester if we were keen on wingers but for some reason the club didn't get linked to either of them.
