A fit Nkunku would have been our best attacker since Hazard. now we might never know… He apparently has not only sustained MCL tear but also miniscus damage. Miniscus replacement surgery was what took Fernando Torres’s pace away. Let’s hope it is not part of the treatment here. That's not good but at the same time Torres was always a fundamentally crap footballer without his pace, Christo does (in worse case) seem to have more tactical intelligence to adapt his game. IIRC Torres had 2 similar big surgeries on the same knee in the space of 5 months prior to the 2010 World Cup then injured his thigh during the WC so would say that any sort of situation re his injuries and Nkunku’s not particularly comparable - which is good. Not to mention the repeated hamstring and groin injuries he had suffered from 2008/09 seasons onwards… but any big injuries to our players and people think a players finished for sure. No doubt whenever Nkunku comes back after 2 or 3 games if he doesn’t get up to speed immediately people on here will say he’s done…. like they normally do. I think he will be fine, I don’t think its a reoccurring injury and people reading too much into it. Then thats without mentioning as you said about Torres outside of finishing and running, he wasn’t a technically outstanding footballer. If anything he had to get better at that side of the game here - because his legs were gone. mkh 620
Pizy 18,985
I don’t care what he costs at this point. Just get him in. Think he could have a Kante-like impact on this team.
Vegetable 830
He didn't play a single minute since we considered not worth 80 million, yet drag this two more weeks and he will be absolutely worth more, than Mbappe himself, hype is real 😂 didi007 and Vesper

He is supposed to be very high rated, excelled at U20 world cup. How come no better Serie A teams or some Bundesliga teams were after him? mkh and Vesper
Pizy 18,985
Yeah, that doesn’t seem like a great loan move. He should go to Leicester. That’s the picture perfect situation for him. A club that will probably be fighting at the top of the Championship and who feels like a PL side. Get him used to English football at a decent level. milka 3,395
So without proper DM and CAM and no back ups there what a way to start the new season . Typical to us . Edited August 8, 2023 by milka xPetrCechx
Gundalf 806
Was Nkunku even supposed to be that nr. 10, CAM? Because he barely played in this position in preseason, with Chukwu starting as CAM in 3 of the 4 preseason games, with Nkunku playing more on the left instead of Mudryk. dimmas
