Agree with this though Hutchinson is impressing and is possibly above Lewis now in my reckoning. Casadei will have to deal with another suspension after his second 'two yellows equals red' of the season last weekend.

Ok, you are right, especially after last evening 😄

Solid enough defender but when he was tasked with ball playing and ball carrying responsibilities he was all at sea.

I agree but forcing a player to do something they are not good at just points to poor man management by the manager in charge.

It's like a manager asking a wide player/winger to "track back" or play out of position as a wingback because the manager is too lazy to adapt his tactics to the players at his disposal.

So people are now pretending Zouma wasn't an absolute calamity when he was pressed.

So people are now pretending that Zouma didn't help the defense at all, especially when the opposition would break at pace against us on a counter and Zouma was often the only one trying to make a challenge as Cahill was absolutely cooked by any decent counter.

All time single season most goals (35) by a MFer in topflight, top 10 European league history is hardly 'master of none'. Plus 20 assists, and is already at 10 goals this season.

Have you even watched him play to any sort of extensive amount?

Nope, those numbers wasn't from midfield. While Nkunku is versatile like Havertz was at Leverkusen, he only look decent as either second striker or no. 10. If we are planning to use him as a winger, might as well sign someone like Kvaratskhelia instead.

I am really not very sold on Nkunku, he screams to me another Budesliga attacker that does well over their because of the space he is afforded like Werner, Sancho, Kai etc.

Kvaratskhelia looks more like someone who would adapt quickly in the PL.

What's the alternative we change our system to something which isn't really "the trend" at the top in the present day (hence Mou's decline) to accommodate a good but not great defender?

Apart from Lampard all our post Mou managers did manage the situation properly. Conte and Tuchel loaned/sold him at the first avaliable opportunity while Sarri let him go before he even kicked a competitive ball for him.

Literally no one said that.

Being comfortable on the ball is an essential to being a modern day professional footballer though? Even more so as a central defender in this day and age where every Tom, Dick or Harry is a Guardiola acolyte. I mean every half decent team in Europe is proactive with the ball and able to play out to a reasonable degree.

So is it really poor man management? Absolutely not.

Kvaratskhelia looks like he could be a good player but again, a lot of people are basing this off of like 15 games from his time in Italy with Napoli. And thats it.

Still too early to be entirely convinced that he is the real deal and I think he would be wise to remain at Napoli for another season at least and repeat what he’s doing so far.

Although football doesn’t always work like that.

We are cl winners.
Who they want to join ? Edessaikos ?

We are behind Real, Barca, Bayern, United, City, Pool, PSG in the european pecking order. To say otherwise is unrealistic in my view. There is a reason we settled for the likes of Werner and Ziyech in the last few years.

Hutchinson isn't giving me sure thing vibes like Reece was at age 18 but he's making encouraging progress and has a chance I'd say. I hope GP includes him in the squad for the League Cup game at City next month. Can't see Hutchinson getting a start but 10/15 mins would be good. I suppose that for him to get on we'd have to be comfortably ahead, or comfortably behind, but if Hutchinson just makes the trip, it'll be a start.

Behind Barca I doubt. Also PSG have to face weaker opposition at home and their strength in Europe is yet to be seen.
Real, City I would agree and Bayern are always impressive. Pool why ?
But it's a question of money really, not current team ratings.
