Appears the Cucurella side of things is more or less sewn up and done. It’s the Colwill part that isn’t. Hope that’s just a matter of structure and clauses and not Colwill having cold feet about Brighton and thinking he’s “better” than their level.

imo he will be playing as LCB in Tuchel system. And in meantime he will be backup if Chilly will have anothey injury. Additionally we can free up Emerson and Alonso. And meantime we are selling Colwill for ~25m with clause 45mln to Brighton. Imo this deal is good in current situation.
K2 can be moved to central or right spot in 3 man defence.

he is 1.72m!

that's only an inch and a half taller than KANTE

we will get ROASTED ALIVE with him playing CB

and even height aside, that does NOT address the insane price

when you toss in the £20m more it would cost us to buy back Colwill

we are dropping 87m euros (£72.5m) on this deal!

NOT HAPPY

AT ALL

Well Azpi is 1,78. 6cm but okey maybe he is small guy but he will have bigger partners like K2, Chalobah, Silva, (Fofana).
And about Colwill, 20mln but you will get a defender who played 2 or more years on PL level. It is small price for this kind of experience. Simple loan would not efficient as not all clubs thread loanes as full contract players and dont give them chances. And in case if he will not develop we just sold him for fair price after one year on champioship level. Win-win situation.

Doubt 52m would be enough to get Theo. Also did he not repeatedly state he wants to stay in Milan.

Phonsie is obviously a pipe dream. I am not really sure on mendy, esp if CA is playing Rüdiger in his position.

Jose Gaya is absolute pants. zero idea why that dud is always ranked among the best LBs. Bang average player.

But you are right. I think we could have got a ton of LBs for half the price. Cucurella is good but is he really twice as good as Borna Sosa, Raum or Zinchenko?

One more thing i read about the little chap is that he wants to return to Barca one day. Tha's probably why we gave him a 6y contract. They can have him when he is 30.

I was just listing the top 7 LB's on the planet in terms of valuation + talent

I have said it would likely take around 70-80m euros to pull Theo

that is £58.5m to £66.5m

split down the middle and its €75m, £62.5m

Theo is CERTAINLY worth the extra £10m

Cucurella looks better. Better in a better league.

Looks tidier on the ball and a better passer.

not a chance

besides the massive 12cm height difference and the strength difference

there is this

Theo over 3 full years has 20 goals and 23 assists, in a league that rarely has high fullback goal production

7 goals and 8 assists per year when you round it off

he had 5 goals and 10 assists last season

Cucurella last season (and this is more than fair as last season is the rationalisation people are using to justify paying 325% MORE than he cost just a year ago)

bollocks

I cannot believe that many on here are trying to gaslight that a 1.72m CB IN THE EPL is acceptable (or even a good thing)

£72.5m PLUS salary total potential cost (as we have to pay £20m more to buy Colwill back, and no Colwill sale, no deal)

🤬

for a short AF left back who had 1 league goal, 1 league assist in over 3000 league minutes

I get the feeling u are tall because I've never heard any 1 bang on so much about some ones height before lol. I'm also quite disappointed that u take assist stats so gospel!!! Watching this guy he's creates opportunities for assists to happen he may not send in the final ball, but does alot of the ground work before it.

50m player on the bench either way. Main question stays the same. Who will score goals in this team?

Despite our lack of a specialist we still hit our 3rd highest PL tally ever last season with every outfielder bar Sarr netting at some point.

1.83m <<< Vesper

and I am by far the shortest in my fam (next shortest is 1.92m or so)

I always get the business that mummy had an affair, as I am a lot shorter and darker than my siblings, and basically the same shade as my mum (and with a white AF blonde Swedish father)
