As anyone here knows, I wasn’t high on us signing Osimhen either. But….i certainly don’t want him going to fucking Arsenal. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Think he’ll score for fun in their setup.

With his touch and injury record, he'll have the same impact as Gabriel.

Midfield options 2023 - Caicedo Enzo Gallagher Ugochukwu Casadei

Midfield options 2024 - Caicedo Enzo Lavia KDH Carney (Palmer)

Big upgrades. KDH and Lavia look really good, and both familiar with this setup and style. Some severely underrating a budget friendly option that knows the system - and hes quite silky on the ball with a great eye for a pass.

Add in the fact every player is going to be a year closer to their prime, and getting better and more settled.

Our CB area is the only weak area, as well as the left side wing.

He'll be so much better than Gabriel.  They lacked that midfielder and striker to really go after Man City last season....and they're likely to solve both of those problems with Merino & Victor and they also added to their defence with Calafiori.

KDH for Conor (good)

Carney was there, but injured (his best games, for me, were in a defensive left-wing role a la Mount).

Lavia was there since August, but injured.

Ugo gone is an improvement -- nowhere ready and to be frank, he's nowhere near good enough atm.

Casadei gone is an improvement. Read so many "he looks good" in preseason tho... please don't read too much into "flag" football (aka pre-season).

Palmer is not a mid: same way it's a waste when you move Enzo to a CAM position, moving Palmer away from the opposition goal makes little sense (considering how good he is in the final third).

Reckon that potentially getting a fully fit Enzo back would be the big upgrade this season.

Palmer is not a mid. But reading Maresca views him as a central player.

There are enough options in midfield and Maresca will be able to tinker with the lineup as required.
The problematic areas will be: CB and who plays up top.

Is Jackson even fit?

Ballsy to go into next season relying on him as our #1 with an 18 year old new to the Premier League as a backup.

Not yet but you don't rush making a signing purely based on a short term fitness problem in one guy. The squad is mostly fit and we do have options: Guiu, Nkunku, and even Cole Palmer could play there as a false 9.

𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 | Atléti have advanced to sign Julián Álvarez (24) from Man City! Formal offer will be made of around €60m.

It is 'very likely' he will transfer to a new club, reports.

Nothing from Chelsea.@gastonedul.

I wonder if this means we are about to drop €80m or so on Shamu??

If Son scored that one on one against City in the round of 37 late in the game Arsenal would be champions now.

They would have bottled their final game if they were ahead in the table
