Indeed. But the biggest insult regarding Duran in the last two pages were "noname".

nope, one hour ago:

"They love spending money but a good chunk of it goes on complete garbage. There is no way they can be such imbeciles, they must be doing it on purpose otherwise I don't understand."

And I am pretty sure earlier words like 'morons' and 'idiots' were used

Isn’t Deivid Washington meant to be a super talented young striker who we just spent a bunch of money on 1 year ago? Why not give him a proper look and see if he’s ready rather than spending €50m on Duran and blocking his pathway to the first team? It just makes no sense.

Our transfer approach is increasingly weird. Buying young super talents in the same damn positions and therefor giving each one less of a chance of making it at the club.

Not only him but I see nothing to suggest Fofana could be any worse than him.

Deivid is not super talented at all by the looks. Definitely needs to head out on loan.

They're populating with many signings in the hope few work out. Think we have enough strikers in the 17-23 age group and the squad needs a senior who won't take another season to settle.

Duran looks far tidier than Fofana. Looks a proper finisher and someone who can play with their back to goal.

Go back and read the comments around the Cole Palmer signing - Duran looks a proper player too.

Most villa fans don't want him to leave either, they just know they can't turn down that money, alot say he had tha "it" factor that can't be taught, I trust the villa fans opinions more at this stage.

Super talented?   The kid has potential for sure but he played like 10 times for Santos first team before we decided to spend 15 million on him.

That's what I don't understand about signing and hoarding all these 18-19 year old players when they haven't even played a full season of first team football for their clubs in South America.

Compare that to Angelo Gabriel, there's at least a decent sample size as he played 100 games for Santos before signing for us and then he was able to develop this season in Ligue 1.

Exactly what I'm reading too.

This guy is in the top 1% of non penalty goals per 90. His expected goals per 90 non penalty - is .38 and he slots in .95.

I get that its a small sample to go off of, but even watching his highlights and some extended clips, he does a lot of things really well. He seems a bit one footed, but aside from that, off of the little I've seen of both him and Sesko he looked the more talented one.

people would be more furious if we didnt sign nobody and tried washington and fofana as backups than brining in duran as a backup 🤣

No they wouldn't everyone knows already we're wasting money again and again. If there was a poll to get this fringe Duran or gut it out another season with Fofana and get a top player next season most would vote for this.

If we're really looking for a striker, we should just get Solanke back.  At least he's capable of getting 15+ goals in the PL.

Unless Maresca has asked for another young striker....I just don't see how Duran helps us stay in the mix for European football next season.

I'm hoping we start Duran, I'm not saying he's better than Jackson, but he's instinctive and has one hell of a left peg, I personally think Jackson would make a great LWer

Which makes no sense as Fofana was loaned to a PL club to prove himself and he was one of the bright spots for that Burnley team.

If we're starting both Duran and Jackson next season, we'll be mid-table once again!
