Having watched a bunch of vids of your countryman Gyokeres he looks like the sort of striker we should perhaps target instead. Looks like a better all around footballer. bigbluewillie

Feels like we’ve gone WAY overboard signing all these teenaged wingers who will all be around the same age. we are basically gambling that one of these players will become a world class player. i would sell madueke now, but in reality he will probably get one more season to prove himself. hutchinson and angelo should again go on loan, maybe one can stay if they progressed enough to be a backup... i am probably in the minority but im not against this type of aproach from our board. Magic Lamps 11,692
3 hours ago, Vesper said: Barcelona's Ronald Araujo on the brink of exit amid financial struggles https://www.planetsport.com/soccer/news/barcelonas-ronald-araujo-on-the-brink-of-exit-amid-financial-struggles FC Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo is reportedly on the verge of being sold this summer as the club grapples with severe financial woes. The Uruguayan centre-back, once seen as a cornerstone for the future, now appears to be a prime candidate for departure. Sources from Barca Reservat indicate that Araujo's disenchantment began following the club's reaction to his error against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals. Barcelona ended up crashing out of the tournament 6-4 on aggregate. Despite public reassurances from President Joan Laporta about renewing Araujo's contract, no satisfactory offer has materialized. "Araujo has felt undervalued," reports suggest, highlighting the lack of tangible support from the club. Although he signed a reduced contract in 2022 with promises of an improved deal soon after, Barcelona's current financial limitations have stalled any significant renegotiations. This has left Araujo feeling edged out, especially as lucrative offers from other clubs loom. Interest in Araujo is high. Bayern Munich engaged in discussions with him in January, although contact has since ceased. More pressing, perhaps, is Manchester United's reported readiness to swoop in should Araujo indicate his willingness to leave Barcelona. The club's financial predicament makes Araujo's sale a logical yet bittersweet decision. Comparatively, fellow youngster Pedri's market value has declined, highlighting the contrasting fortunes within the squad. Barcelona's need to balance their books could mean losing a promising talent like Araujo, a move that underscores the harsh realities facing the club in these challenging financial times. We should be all over this if true. Would be perfect for our Defense with his proactive style and is supposedly a leader. Estevao and Paez are considered first team signings whereas there will be those that will be loaned and sold for profit. If Estevao is this generational player he should have no problem playing on the left given his unique dribbling ability.
Thor 2,713
How does this work for FFP as they are technically youth players atm? Does their purchase price come into play once they hit a certain age/no longer youth team distinction or how does it work against our FFP numbers? Vesper 30,193
Chelsea https://thedailybriefing.io/i/144795551/Chelsea What a screamer from Moises Caicedo as Chelsea ended their season with another win and an impressive climb to 6th place! FT Chelsea 2-1 Bournemouth [Pictures from X/Chelsea FC] Chelsea will be in the Europa League next season if Man City beat Man United in the FA Cup final next week. The Blues ended with five Premier League wins in a row, finishing the season 6th. 14 goals scored, four goals conceded in the last five games for Mauricio Pochettino’s team. Chelsea want Estevao Willian to be part of the first team as soon as he arrives in 2025, no plans for loan as he is considered a ‘generational talent’. €40m fixed fee, €25m in add-ons considered not difficult to reach as performance related. Could Crysencio Summerville to Chelsea be another transfer to watch? Fabrizio Romano takes a look in his exclusive column. Thiago Silva: “I am at peace. I did everything I could do. Everything. I know what it means to wear the Chelsea shirt. If I have a message to the boys here today, I hope they understand that everything they did to get to Chelsea has to be worth it because the season we’re having is not worthy of Chelsea, it’s not. I think they have to do more next year.” Thiago Silva was given a guard of honour before telling the crowd: “My dream is to see my kids play for you. I’ll miss you guys a lot. I love you.” Mauricio Pochettino when asked if he will have a say on summer transfers at Chelsea: “That is the club’s decision. We will be there if they need help.” Will Pochettino stay at Chelsea? Fabrizio Romano has the latest info in his exclusive column. Pochettino: “I’m really happy. But the questions on future are for owners and directors, not me. On Friday night, Todd Boehly invited me for a dinner and it was a nice dinner together. I don’t know about the rumours!” Fernando
