I get we need pure profits but selling youngsters to fund external signings was marina s thing . At least we are only buying other, more talented young players mostly but Hall I think is probably already better than Cucurella who will play in his stead. Terrible business . Cucu's and Sterling's spots are next to open, but it may take while as they are hard to sell. Silva? Backline is already full anyway. Young, expensive players on long contracts may be hard to shift, so even basic upgrades in the squad may prove difficult. Hall was like 17 when he started playing for our senior team at left back. Not like he has a career of playing midfield , his position can easily change. We have 3 in the u23 rn. Surely Hall should be above them in the pecking order. If he is medically unfit we should be able to fire him.
