seriously all this talk about our scouts; but you can't find a middle ground between a 100m and 18 year old that would need a few years.

We have been doing with the likes of Jackson and Badiashille.

Which should then enable us to splash the big bucks on ready made when need be.

Definitely walk away from Caicedo and no more business with Brighton - don’t sell them anyone either unless for outrageous prices. Now that word is on the street money means nothing to them what goes around comes around.

Despite panic there is shit loads of good options we’ve mentioned in this thread and no doubt far more we’ve never heard of the scouts should have an eye on.

The thing with Lavia is that he’s still a kid. Which is why it’s probably better for him that he goes to Liverpool where he wouldn’t be expected to start every game and can be eased in by Klopp. That immense pressure to hit the ground running with top class performances week in and week out wouldn’t be there.

Whereas if he came here he’d be thrown right into the fire and have a huge burden of being the primary defensive shield for a huge club. Asking that for a 19 year old is big. Doing it for a Southampton and doing it for Chelsea with our expectations is a massive difference.

I can’t even imagine who we’d panic buy if Caicedo doesn’t happen and Lavia then chooses Liverpool. I hope in that scenario we at least try to throw massive money at a world class player who may not even have been on the radar. Someone who may not technically be “available” but who could be sold if a huge offer comes in.

If we panic buy Onana or that DM from Ajax who we were after Alvarez I’d be bitterly disappointed and worried that we won’t get near the top 4.

I don’t think Onana would be a bad buy. Sitting in front of the back line and adds another big body (6’5”) on set pieces. And fee would be around £55m-65m

You do realise that Fabinho is close to a deal with the Saudi League as well....and they have just sold Henderson.   I don't think they have another starting DM and Lavia would take that role.

Maybe you’re right but it seems out of character for Klopp to throw a 19 year old in in such a key position from day 1.

Exactly. Alcantara also near out of the door. Two new midfielders Szoboszlai and McAllister are more attacking midfielders. They have only left youngsters like Bajcetic, Elliott and Jones. This summer they lost Milner, Henderson, Keita, Ox, Arthur and now Fabinho close to move as well as Alcantara. They are in very similar situation as us in MF area. Klopp is using TAA in DM in pre season. Getting Caicedo will really give us the edge in that first game.

Just shows that its obviously not so easy to get a good DM. I bet Pool fans are also raging that they havent bought anyone yet.

that's the right valuation for Caicedo

I think 80 million pouns is 30 to much for this guy. and 100 million pounds is 50 mio too much for rice. how are this two guys worth more than 50 mio. they are just solid in defence. nothing special.

That tweet was from May. Just to show what Fabrizio told about the pact between Caicedo and Brighton and that its gonna be "respected"

Should now at least force their hand by handing in a transfer request, kicking up a fuss about a move
