This will get done for 90m I think.

Sooooo... Are we "the board needs to hurry up with Caicedo" or we at "we better not pay over 75m" can't tell in this thread any more, 80m bid rejected and still it's pandemonium in here.

I'm on the minority here, but I think Caicedo shouldn't really be "the" starting CM to play alongside Enzo. We already have a VERY young squad, which will likely translate into an overly young starting XI. We need someone in the mold of Kova -- ready player with experience who can *lead* his younger teammates. At this point we don't even know if Caicedo had his "birthday season", and he certainly does not have the experience right now.

I totally get that you need to "bet" on him becoming a World Class player; it will be too late once he has the attention of clubs like Madrid, but again, that's not what we need right now. I see him as a complementary signing, not the one we need.

The next move simply has to come from Caicedo now, not us. He needs to start stamping his feet as this is beyond pathetic now.

We should be saying to his agents etc that's it we are done, goodbye it's over to you lot now.

Pity what happened to CHO, when Bayern was trying to troll us and pry him away for 45, we should have let them and troll the troll this way. Never really recovered after injury and this huge absurd contract and doubt he ever had mentality to do so. Could be hot stuff if he ever had stepped up.

I can’t even imagine who we’d panic buy if Caicedo doesn’t happen and Lavia then chooses Liverpool. I hope in that scenario we at least try to throw massive money at a world class player who may not even have been on the radar. Someone who may not technically be “available” but who could be sold if a huge offer comes in.

If we panic buy Onana or that DM from Ajax who we were after Alvarez I’d be bitterly disappointed and worried that we won’t get near the top 4.

seriously all this talk about our scouts; but you can't find a middle ground between a 100m and 18 year old that would need a few years.

We have been doing with the likes of Jackson and Badiashille.

Which should then enable us to splash the big bucks on ready made when need be.

Definitely walk away from Caicedo and no more business with Brighton - don’t sell them anyone either unless for outrageous prices. Now that word is on the street money means nothing to them what goes around comes around.

Despite panic there is shit loads of good options we’ve mentioned in this thread and no doubt far more we’ve never heard of the scouts should have an eye on.

The thing with Lavia is that he’s still a kid. Which is why it’s probably better for him that he goes to Liverpool where he wouldn’t be expected to start every game and can be eased in by Klopp. That immense pressure to hit the ground running with top class performances week in and week out wouldn’t be there.

Whereas if he came here he’d be thrown right into the fire and have a huge burden of being the primary defensive shield for a huge club. Asking that for a 19 year old is big. Doing it for a Southampton and doing it for Chelsea with our expectations is a massive difference.

I don’t think Onana would be a bad buy. Sitting in front of the back line and adds another big body (6’5”) on set pieces. And fee would be around £55m-65m
