Makes you think with 120m we can buy 2 great players,, but probably we buy 2 drinkwaters.. 🤔

Could've had Gvardiol and Enzo, both keen to join and whole future to look into, now we look at Badiashile, Koulibaly and Rice for years to come.

Pretty strange signing and fit, ngl. I’ve said here before that I like Felix as a player but he’s an odd fit in this team. He’s not a wide player and he’s not a classic striker. So where exactly does he play for us?

Anyways, he must have been TRULY desperate to leave Atleti if he agreed to come to this dumpster fire.

Just no, no, no. He is a very exciting youngster but to spend this money on a player who moved for peanuts in summer is crazy. Especially that Southampton may well go down this year. Also need to stop panic buying because we haven't got plan A. Wait till summer please and then assess our options.

To be honest, he is a very good prospect, I'd trust him to be a top player more than Santos and that Italian guy but yeah way overpriced.

Felix isn't just an odd fit for us, but I think in general. Like you said he does have a lot of talent and he's still young and likely to develop further but you feel to get the best out of him he needs to play as a second striker in very much a free role. It's a formation and style that isn't used very regularly anymore. Unless this is something that Potter is looking at, he feels very much like another square peg like Havertz is. Havertz effectively needs that role too. The problem for both of them is we still don't have that central striker (not named Auba) that can play with either of them.

The one thing I would say is at least it's a loan, albeit an expensive one. It's up to him to prove himself and I'd assume he will want to in order to get out of Atletico permanently. If he was a great success then we can look at buying him in the summer. If he struggles then at least it's not another player we'll be looking at on the books wondering how we'll move him on.

If Felix has a successful loan what makes you think he won't pick Arsenal or United in the summer to play CL? The lack of buy option is so stupid.

It almost feels like Boehly is looking for least attractive deal possible and jumping on it. Somehow not burned 120 million on some one-hit wonder, so time to jump onto Felix, who is pretty much copy of Havertz, except also suffering like Saul. Other clubs laughed off the offer to loan him, so obviously we are all over it!

But yeah, strikerless formation with 2 suffering false 9's is gonna be some seriously avant-garde shit for sure.

10M for a 6 month loan, 20 games and no buy option, this club is putrid.

We value people expressing their point of view, but you are going to need to tone down the negativity about the club. It is a transition and it has been a rough one where the new owners have done some serious naïve moves. This is however a place that people come to to enjoy being a fan of the club. The club is much more than just the new owners. It is a part of the fabric of many people's lives long before Roman owned it.

From what I've seen reported Atletico don't want a buy option (probably for that very reason that they're hedging their bets a successful loan will stir interest) - it's either been no option or an obligation.

Personally, I wouldn't have entertained this deal. However, I think no option is better than an obligation because the risking of losing out to him is not as bad as the risk of being stuck with another expensive player who struggles.

Desperation settling in I guess.

WTF

IF we sign both Felix and Rice, I am going to go insane

might be time to stop caring about what we do

as the yanks are looking like clowns atm

I know it sounds crazy arrogant

but FFS

I think my transfers targets in terms of both who to buy and who NOT to buy

blow away what we have done in the past 5 to 7 years

we have shit away at least 750m quid on shit buys (I listed them out) and that could go up to one billion if the ones we have who are still up in the air as to good or bust go bust

that a LOT OF FUCKING MONEY THAT I WOULD HAVE PUT TO FAR BETTER USE

I approved of and wanted

Kante

Pedro

Kova

Rudiger (and I would NOT have let him go on a free)

Giroud

and also was not unhappy (I cannot say I was all-out to bring him in then) at all with Thiago on a free

those 6 are THE ONLY decent, truly good to great business we have done counting the 2015/2016 windows up until NOW

thats crazy

Jorginho is arguably in there, as is Alonso but I would have sold Alonso in summer 2018 to Real for that £55m offer and replaced him (Theo, who I already had liked since his 2016/17 breakout loan with Alaves, or Jose Gaya or Alex Sandro (was 27yo then) or Alex Telles, who would have done far better IMHO in a Chels wingback role that he did at Manure), and would have sold Jorginho off and replaced him as well, after the 2021 CL win, with Bruno Guimarães (who I like from when he was in Brasil, at CAP), and sold Kante then as well and replaced him with Aurélien Tchouaméni.
