I usually prefer us looking at the XA and chances created metrics anyway but even more so in this case. Brighton make us look ice cold in the final 3rd.

Anyone got Cucurella's stats on that regard?

Cucurella was their former youth player, even if Barca won't hijack now they could come back in the future. Won't be too hard to use their usual tactic (tapping-up).

Assists as a stat is irrelevant in most cases. Although the Assist gets you the goal it's not the whole picture more often than not the Assist to the Assist is far more crucial than the actual Assist.

One of my favourite players to watch last season Cucurella, work rate is insane, covers so much ground and is very good on the ball.

My opinion is that, like hundreds of players before, Ben has been boosted by his injury. Boosted in the sense that his reputation was enhanced in the eyes of many while the team struggled in his absence. Because Ben's injury came during a spell of mostly good form, people forgot and forgive his long spell of indifferent form in a Chelsea shirt. The truth is our high league place in the winter belied the way we were playing and was never going to last even if the wingbacks had stayed fit. What looked like falling off a cliff because Ben and Reece were missing was in fact mostly about our results catching up with our performances.

I've said all along that if we sign a LB/LWB it needs to be an upgrade to Ben, not a backup.

Thats weird. Last week after Kounde deal fucks up, Ornstein was really quite and now he jumps with some info. Interesting what club was doing whole week 🤔
Imo Cucu and Fofana could be nice combo but we would need still back up for James. Maybe Dest for low money?
