Exactly like you said, I think Tuchel would utilise his versatility. He could get regular game time at LWB as Chilwell can't play every game but also double's down as a centre midfielder, which presents an option in that area of the field this season if our main options there don't become available.

I personally like the look of Raum as a left wing back but I wouldn't be against Zinchenko. He's technically very strong. Defensively he can get caught out sometimes (notably in the Champions League final against us) but that's covered a lot more in a wing back role.

The problem is at least with Sterling he only has a year left on his deal. I think City will be less receptive to letting Ake and Zinchenko leave to us when there's still time on their deals.

That will be the key. If City can't get Cucurella until next year, there's no way they sell Zinchenko this summer, it makes no sense to them for the upheaval.

This is part of the reason though why some people need to be patient in the transfer window. Lots of moving pieces, not just at Chelsea. It's like buying a house on a chain, sometimes the selling club will want a deal in place for a replacement first. 

This is probably one which would take longer to resolve if we wanted to pursue it.

well, I read that even if city don't buy cucurella, they will upgrade left back position

zinchenko would be a great buy, I think

In 35 EPL games (he didn't join them until the 4th game due to the late transfer) he played the full 90 minutes every game except for the first game (82 minutes) and two others where he took a knock and came off after 64 minutes and 66 minutes

after the 12th game, he played every minute of every EPL game

that is not rotational, that is iron man level, like prime Azpi level

Because by 'he' I meant Zinchenko will likely go from a rotation option to backup at City if they sign Cucurella.

yes because Walker at RB is ageing (turns 33yo right at this coming season's end, he is still fast AF, but he is coming into the injury prone years), and Cancelo will go back to RB.

Walker only played 2,648 minutes all comps, in a season where Citeh played 58 games, 5,220 minutes, so Walker missed basically half the minutes

In terms of their playing styles they’re tailor made for the PL. But they are also both kind of slow and lumbering.

If we got MDL and Skriniar that would be an immense pair of signings and would also explain the Richardlison links to me. In that TT wants to turn us back into a high physical team that beats everyone up. A little like the Jose teams.

Christensen stepped up, Chalobah stepped up, a 37 year old Thiago Silva looked about 25 years old.

I trust Tuchel and the system he uses to bring the best out of the defence and whilst I think there are better options available I do think Ake's skillset is well suited to a back 3.

Ake is interesting in that I don't really rate him as a starting CB BUT I see the logic in him coming here, due to: 

1) He is an obtainable left footed CB with experience in the PL.

2) He can play DM, so there is an option to experiment with 433 with him here. 

3) He is a safe option to then rotate into a squad role later on if Colwill steps up and takes his chance at LCB (I want him to get a chance but I am not sold on him being thrown straight into the deep end.) 

4) He can play LB as well if we switch of a 4, so he could cover three positions if we move to a 4. CB, DM and LB. 

Like I said, not entirely sold on him but I do trust TT to get the best out of defensive players and I think he'll cover a lot of roles, even if he starts this season. To some extent I would view him as Dave's replacement.

Anyway, in regards to potentially signing both Sterling & Dembele, I just wonder how that would work with the formation we play. It leaves our player of the season Mason Mount the odd man out. That’s something we haven’t really thought about. And if we switch formations to a 4-3-3 to fit him into the team we screw up the CB situation. Playing in a back 3 has been the primary reason Silva has been so comfortable even at age 37/38.

What is there to screw up at the CB situation? It is going throw a major rebuild anyway; we lost Rudi and AC, Azpi is not good enough anymore, the fact we saw Sarr so much makes greatly question Tuchel ability and flexibility. The goal is the team, not prolonging a 38 year old CB.

We keep talking about Tuchel type players, but in reality only 1 player has been really pushed out and that was Tammy. Lukaku and Ziyech are forcing themselves out.

Anyway things are going so freaking slow, and I am not talking about buying players. There doesn’t seem to be any news on some of our deadwood that need to go.

The deadwood are called deadwood for a reason. Imo, they'll mostly end up on loan or rotting here for the rest of their contracts. 

Barkley, Bats, Baka, Rahman etc, are all virtually unsellable due to their wages and ability levels. Best we can hope for is that they get loans where they're wages are covered or we can agree some sort of release deal with them. However, they'll be right down the pecking order in regard to priorities. 

People like: Kepa and Sarr are also difficult. 

Players like RLC and Ziyech will command some fees but again, it'll depend what the player wants.
