Who's better among Dembele, Raphinha, Gnabry and Sterling?

If they're all fully fit, Dembele by a country mile.

Everyone complains that the Dippers are great at making signings and that we always mess the majority of ours up. Dippers then come in with a large offer for one of our players, who is still young, and people want to take it? OK....

They are generally good at signing players that fit their system. Pulisic would be another one that would fit that notion, but we shouldn't be doing anything to strengthen our rivals unless we have something to gain in terms of personnel.

Dembele is an outrageous talent and if fit he’s the best out of those. But I’d take any of those, really.

If you drove, that is a lot of driving!

😮

You must know the A23 like the back of your hand. Whole lot of Surrey and Sussex.

🙂 A23/M23 Took my mother down to visit my sister for the day then picked her up and took her home again.

Not happening, at best we will only get 2.

Dembele: free

Gnabry: £34m

Raphinha: £60m - £70m

Sterling: £50m - £60m

Nah at best we get Dembele. Can't see City selling to us. Raphinha is too expensive and unproven at the very top level.  Bayern hate us, have never done business with us and will be reluctant to sell Gnabry. I am also not yet sure he will actually leave them.

Gnabry only has 1 year left and so far he keep rejecting their extension lol.

I know but they will hate selling him to us. Maybe the wind has changed a bit after their executives were replaced but hoeneß and Rumenigge used to hate us with a passion.

For Gnabry it is a question of money. His head has been turned by the vast salaries other top GErman players earn elsewhere.

I don't blame Gnabry when he saw Sane and Coman have bigger wages than him.

With the way contracts are going, it is urgent. It needs sorting this summer. You don't want this going into next season because the longer the delays, the greater the opportunities that present him. We shouldn't take it for granted the likes of Mount and James will just be loyal to the core to Chelsea due to their academy roots - they will need to be compensated with wages fitting important players within the club.

I don't think the 2023 crop of contracts expiring are too much of a worry. Jorginho and Kante at present I'm not sure what will happen with them but I wouldn't be hugely disappointed if next summer one of them left at the end of their contract as we've had the peak of both players. Thiago Silva I think will happily sign another year later in the season if he's still performing at the highest level.

But the 2024 contracts need consideration this summer - Mount, Pulisic, Kovacic and Hudson Odoi in my opinion all need extending this summer to retain their market values. If any weren't willing to extend, we will need to start considering their positions at the club. Loftus Cheek is probably the only one at present that we can hold off on as he is paid a huge amount and still needs to justify any sort of extension.

I really don't get why everyone is so keen on Dembele. That kid was practically a meme for everything wrong with Barcelona and has only started playing when needing a new contract. Now everyone wants him? Not sure that is wise at all. In fact, kind of reminds me of how everyone/a lot of people forgot just how bad Lukaku was so they said 'they were hopeful' he would be good this time around in the PL.

Every time I've watched him, he hasn't looked good at all. Hope he justifies the hype.

why does bayern hate us?

The Bayern directors never liked Abramovich and the way in which he came into football prepared to pump millions into Chelsea.

The club as a whole will also never forget or forgive losing the Champions League trophy in their own backyard.

We let Salah go and he turned into a monster.

I get that Pulisic is injured all the time and looks to be hit and miss in front of goal, but it describes Salah early on pretty well as well. Not saying Puli will ever get to that level.

Free, and costs can always be recouped even if he does turn out to be average.
