Why ain't we after Dennis Zakaria or Florentino to be understudy of Kante roles since we going to be playing 433 with Kante and two roaming 8s...

I am not just on the Rice hype train especially for West Ham price valuation..

Hmmmm so Henderson comes out tops in the stats...

Well him or Pope will do.

except Manure will not sell Hendo, at least not at a sane price

they know he will soon replace De Gea

I doubt they would even loan him to us

If we wanted to make a serious push for the PL title and CL this season and are indeed after another deep sitting midfielder (which I can't see) then we should be doing everything we can to steal Thiago Alcantara before he goes to Liverpool. He's 29 years old but his game isn't reliant on pace or athleticism at all and I can easily see him playing elite football for another 3-4 years. World class player available for €30m.

Will sadly never happen unless we sold Jorginho, though. I'd fancy us against anyone with him in our team controlling the midfield.

Zakaria and Gladbach made it clear he is not moving this summer in any scenario.

Alan Nixon

@reluctantnicko

Chelsea are willing to let Ethan Ampadu out on loan to Sheff U. One of those that works for all parties. More online shortly. Ish.

===

so,,we wouldn't make him a backup for Kante or CB then. but as long he make a reguler first team at Sheffied,,gonna be a good development for him...

its complicated because I am not sure if we want Rice as a CB

I know now, this season, that we need him more at DMF than CB

you are one of the few who brought up the double 8

my dream squad is a double 8 but a 442 (I leave many options for CB)

for 2021/22

GK Oblak (step-down, Predrag)

CB Upamecano or (real wild card) Theo Hernandez shifted to a LCB from LB (and he can be our backup LB if Chilwell cannot go) or Romagnoli or Evan N'Dicka

CB Skriniar or Giminez or Ginter or Tapsoba

LB Chilwell  and Ramy Bensebaini (deffo my number one backup LB option of we do not get either Hernandez brother, he is big (1.86m), strong pacy, very strong defensively)

RB Reece and Nordi Mukiele or Sergiño Dest  or Takehiro Tomiyasu for BU/rotation

DMF (the lower base trad role) Rice (step down Denis Zakaria and then MAYBE then Rice moves to CB so eliminate the players in one of those slots above, probably the 2nd slot)

DMF (the higher, roamer role) Camavinga (step down  Bruno Guimarães or Ismaël Bennacer or Boubacar Kamara) Fucking Juve snagged Weston McKennie, grrrrrrr

LMF/LW Pulisic (or IF Puli cannot stay healthy and CHO turns bust, then the crazy, money be damned option is Sancho, but that is 95% impossible on so many levels)

RMF/RW Ziyech

Striker Werner

Striker Havertz

the only other players (all positions save for GK as there are too many and we have no idea who we end up with now)) not listed above who intrigue me ATM and might be remotely available next summer or after (Alaba, at 29yo, is too old by then and Sergio Reguilón is now not needed as we have Ben) are (many are pipe dreams, and I did not even toss in Mbappe, as we cannot afford him)

Matthijs de Ligt    (not happening)
Raphaël Varane     (not happening)
Lucas Hernández   (if Bayern do not want him, which is highly doubtful, he could replace his brother above)
Marquinhos  (not happening)
Ibrahima Konaté
Caglar Söyüncü
Sandro Tonali   (not happening)
Thomas Partey (will be 28yo though in June, so getting close to too old and I assume he will be sold this summer anyway)
Saúl Ñíguez
Marco Verratti    (not happening)
Houssem Aouar
Nicolò Zaniolo
Dominik Szoboszlai
Lucas Ocampos
Ansu Fati   (not happening)
Mikel Oyarzabal
Erling Håland
Victor Osimhen (not happening now, as Napoli bought him)
Richarlison
Donyell Malen

Skriniar is available right now, Conte doesn't rate him in the back three.

yes, I know

my standard want was Skiniar this window, Upamecano in summer 2021, but I gave a lot of other options as well

IF we do mange to grab Rice and a GKer this window (we have to dump a lot of dregs to get to both) then obviously Skriniar is not happening now

only way I could see all three happening this window is move that will make half the board rage and seethe in anger, that being a Knate for Skriniar straight swap (and then we HAVE to buy Rice)

a summer 2019 Skriniar is worth a summer 2020 Kante valuation (both at £70-75m or so)

now with COVID-19 and with Skriniar being on the outs, it is probably an overspend to ship Kante straight up for him (55-60m euros cash waived in Inter's face, I think they would sell Skriniar, meaning we are valuing Kante at only £49.5-54m in a straight swap, which is very low, especially as Serie A will extend his career at high levels, provided he stays healthy, which is a big if)

that said, Kante starts to (he already has) massively go down in value for the summer 2021 window

he turns 30 right near the end of winter (March), and if he is injured a lot this coming season, we are fucked in terms of his valuation

another option to grab Skriniar is to offer Inter €35-40m + Emerson for Skriniar

they are fucked at LB/LWB atm

Would be too good to be true. I'm not confident we will get Upamecano given his cheap release clause would attract many big clubs.

According to Kicker, Upamecano's new contract includes a €42 (£37.8m) million release clause, which will be active from next summer.

That  is SO low.

And we can sell him on the project (and we have his best teammate (Werner) here already, plus Havertz and Rudiger)
