there only clearly three managers better than tuchel

conte

klopp

pep

we have the best coach possible.

I say only Klopp and Pep. Conte is also a serial bottlers in a cup competition, arguably even worse than Tuchel.

One thing us for sure.. all of us are hurting... every single Chelsea fan but let's not forget that we should in all honesty be proud of reaching 3 FA Cup finals in a row. We won the CL last year. The Big One. I think TT has been magnificent since coming here. Yea, he has made a few mistakes here and there but he has us right up there slugging with 2 of the best if no THE teams in Europe, City and Liverpool. If we get our recruitment right under this new ownership, we could see us going toe to tow with these fuckers in the league too.

Good to get to these finals..but to lose all 3 of them is shit. Probably won't get there for a while now and the annoying thing is we've given Liverpool 2 trophies this season...urghh such a frustrating game!!!! Hopefully we can build right and get rid of who we need..

Shootouts are always a lottery. Waking up this morning, you appreciate the fact that this Chelsea team went up and matched this Liverpool team across 4 games this season. Can't fault the effort last night.

Liverpool are on their third 90+ points season in 4 years and have recruited well across the squad. We're squeezing the last out of Alonso (who did well), Azpi, had an injured midfield and clearly lack finishers.

We got overrun at the start of the game but when the team actually settled down and started passing through the midfield, they were able to break the Liverpool pressing with ease. Some good performances from James, Jorginho and Silva.

the work begins again now to try and catch Liverpool, City and for the first time in a long time, the manager's status is not in question. The last two months have been crazy for Tuchel so hope the man and his team can buckle down and focus on the recruitments, squad building over the summer.

the players let Tuchel down many times by failing to score in games, he deserved much better than the dross he’s been watching.

Pulisic was staggeringly wasteful in this game

he missed at least 7 or 8 clear opportunities

the only fault I have with Tuchel was no Werner in regulation time

but come on, if we are relying on Werner, well, we are fucked

Liverpool was also extremely poor in finishing, the worst I have seen them all season, so we got lucky there

Salah has been in a funk for ages, which is very worrisome for them versus Real, who are just ruthless in the few chances they get

the bad thing for us and the EPL

Konate has finally clicked and is becoming a beast of a CB

he was so much better yesterday than VVD was

Henderson also had a good game, especially the first half

dog help us all if Pool lands Tchouameni and Osimhen (or even Darwin Núñez) and they are also in for Bellingham

Tbh Tuchel hasn’t shown anything that he can improve attacking players. He deserves time but the gap between him and Klopp/Pep is large for that very reason.

disagree

his system produces a large amount of great chances

we just have poor finishers

FA Cup  is not Champions League but yeah  - 3th lose in a row and 2nd this season in the same way is too fucking much

In practice, the season is over for us, there are two stupid matches left with Leicester and Watford  ahead of big summer with Todd Boehly .

plus the record breaking losses in a row, and there went our chance at the CS in 3 months as well, so a potential 2 more trophies shat away (one for sure)

we really DO have a Wembley curse, which is extremely troubling

we went from the most brutally efficient English team in domestic cup finals for a good long spell to now being the worst

we are losing them in almost every way imaginable too, so it is not only one issue that can be focused on

When you lose them it's so incredibly disappointing and you just wish you'd just might as well have been knocked out in an earlier round, especially in this marathon season we've had but finals are regularly about fine margins. We're in an era where there are begrudgingly two phenomenal English teams we're competing for trophies with. In the last 4 seasons we've lost 4 finals across each of them all on penalty shoot outs. It's the finest of margins.

But I'd still every day of the week, rather we be reaching these finals and competing in them because there will be ones where those margins do go our way, none more bigger than the Champions League final last year. In a game of very few chances we took ours, City didn't. Keep knocking at the door. Bar this season's Champions League, Tuchel has taken us to every final possible in his tenure, it's an impressive feat which over time will help us collect trophies. The key now is replicating that into the league and getting a consistency across a full season, whilst also remaining competitive in the cup competitions.

those stats are bollocks

all you have to do is watch both cup finals v Pool to see the falsity of the claim

Yup Drogba/Crespo/Costa  would have scored 3 of those Pulisic chances nailed on

Wouldn't read much into it.

They printed this garbage just minutes after the final whistle.

Means that this was prepared to publish based on the result. If we had won they would have printed something else.

It looks even more dumb because we didn't exactly lose. We just missed the penalty shoot out lottery.

It isn't a lottery actually, despite how you want to picture it. This is the 3rd time against Liverpool/Klopp we've lost to them in pens. Super Cup, League Cup, and FA Cup.

Klopp actually hired neuroscientists onto the club to help them in pens. God knows what we do.

Also, I hope this is the last time we AVOID wearing Blue in a cup final.

IMO this superstitious attitude put us on the back foot especially when facing a gritty side like Pool. When the penalty shootout came, it showed.

Allison gathering up the ball to give it to each of our players walking up, while Mendy walking in with his head down.

Again, read my post above. Klopp specifically hired neuroscientists onto the club for penalties.

Sorry, had posted that reply before I had seen your post.

And i see your point. 'Lottery' is perhaps not  the best description because there is something you can do to improve your odds for a shootout.

That being said,  losing on penalties is still a harsh way to go. And the article is too harsh considering that it was two penalty loss defeats that denied us trophies this year, when we could have easily won either of those in normal time.

Maybe they Pool did their diligence in preparing for everything. But to put them on a pedestal while putting us down simultaneously is outrageous. The article is generic nonsense.
