He has been playing on the LW since the Malmo home game. Only at Zenit he played at WB.

Yes, this is the first stretch under Tuchel and he's been good in this period. On Sunday, coming back from COVID he won a penalty, got an assist and was the one playing Lukaku through in the game vs Villa. His finishing like every other attacker on our team, is poor, and is not a natural goalscorer.

Kovacic also got COVID recently.

People might not want to hear it but think it's hard to estimate or know the impact of COVID on the players, especially as each person's body can react differently to the virus etc. Some may take a short time to get back into shape, some may take longer and all that. It's partly why Tuchel has been complaining to the media over the last 1-2 weeks.

Shit I forgot that.

Aye not got a clue how much of an effect it can have, Havertz big example of it last season 100%.

I never expected this.
After the matches against Brentford -who are not an unworthy side- and Villa and with Rom back in strength I believed the problem period was over, with the whatever loss of points. Yesterday was the disaster of the year.

It's quite worrying to think our last win of note at home in league play was against Norwich.

No penalties needed...thats what's bugging. Its nice we've won games or got points but a lot we've got lucky that they've given us penalties. Without that be way way further down.

Yep. Not to mention our PK shootout victories too.

Maybe it was a penalty or maybe it wasn't but it's silly if we keep focusing on that and not the fact that we failed to create anything of note from open play against Brighton and especially, nothing after we scored.

May have been. Video ?
Also Mount's goal looked ok to me.

And that seems to be our issue..score first and then fall apart.

And teams aren't always going to gift penalties. We're not always going to get them. Shouldn't be relying on that to win us a game. Like you said we were crappy at creating chances and Brighton luckily weren't great at scoring from theirs

Pens are not always gifts. The 1-1 against Villa was, the 3-1 was not. Yesterday's (if it was hand ball) would n't be a gift.

True but its still shite that we can't create or finsh chances and some of our recent points have come from teams giving us penalties.  We need to start putting shots away for once. Man U we had a stupid amount of our own yet only got a point because of a penalty. If that hadn't happened been a loss.

I don't see long range shooting from us that often anymore, never mind accurate.

Nope. Seems more aim high or anywhere.

There is this psychology among football players:
Early on they try. Thus Willian once scored for us a lovely one from a free kick near the corner angle.
As time goes by and the scoreline is not good everybody is scared to have a go.

If you are looking for goals that we don't sort of deserve, it's of course some stupid pens stupid defenders have given us but also the set pieces.
A set piece can always result in a goal being scored (such as yesterday's Brighton equalizer when they had in fact almost given up the ghost) and we have scored many such.
I 'm afraid we are clueless when it comes to opening up defenses, apart from some heroics performed by Lukaku. Without the Germans it gets even worse.
