Bounce back again...if we lose or drop points here things won't look great. The media hype was silly and hasn't helped..just need to focus and get 3 points and move on. Losing to City isn't a issue but it's the way we did..no shots on target is bad and yesterday we had one. Need to improve big time

We have a run of games that can help us forget about this last week. Southampton will not be an easy win, they will come right at us. Hopefully Tuchel will take advantage of it. Unfortunately we have more of these international breaks coming.

The EFL game against Villa was a back four, wasn't it? Looked like 4-3-3. So whoever posted that has had their wish answered. I however would like to see more than one match like this, the back 5 is going stale like it did under Conte. Hopefully TT shows some flexibility. Problem is we didn't sign anyone that would allow us to play with a back 4 consistently (a decent DMF, maybe try Chalobah there against easier opponents?).

I posted it on another thread but I don't think reverting to a 4 will be anything close to he disaster it's portrayed as. We were solid as a back 4 under Sarri with Kepa, Luiz and Alonso starting every week and even under Lampard were solid in one once Edou was in the nets.

The problem with the back 3/5 is unless Alonso is on form we simply do not have a specialist in the area and it's really starting to show.

Well last season Chilwell played well there, but this season he's been pants everytime he's played. I see why TT doesn't trust him yet, he isn't at the same level he was and a fully fit/fresh Alonso is actually a decent player. He needs to pick it up quickly bc he and Reece are by far our best options for WBs when on form.

I wouldn't mind to see a back four line-up like this at some point:

Mendy
James - Rüdiger - Silva - Chilwell
Jorginho
Kante - Mount
Pulisic - Lukaku - CHO

Some real grit, strength, directness and pace in it on paper. The biggest issue would of course be Jorginho at holding MF, could make us sus defensively against certain teams, that's why we would need two workhorses in front of him (Kante and Mount). Our only true wingers are Puli and CHO so they kinda pick themselves (we need to sign a winger if we want to go back four full-time, Pulisic can barely be counted on as he's in the infirmary more often than not).

Play 4312

Kai behind Werner and Lukaku. This system works for our set of players. Ziyech looks very bad and Pulisic is out so not in need for wingers.

Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Mount, RLC, Saul can on play in 3 MF. Even suits Gallagher. James/Chilwell full backs.

Kovacic can definitely sit this one out after his horrid displays against City and Juventus.

I'd go Kante, Jorginho, Mount.

                      Havertz

                 Lukaku Werner

Kante available? No carantine anymore?

tbf i dont see this was 4 back. Maybe only on graphic. CHO was on right as wing back and James was as right center. CHO playing on right is wasteful of his strange. We have now very good run of games in league to change something, make experiments with squad/tactic/formation. I just dont want to end like with Conte who stick with one formation to the end.
