Wonder where Tuchel lands btw. Fortunately for us there aren’t going to be any openings at the top PL clubs any time soon so this sacking won’t haunt us directly within our league.

Real Madrid to succeed Ancelotti when he probably retires after this season?

The talk was that, for him, Chelsea represented a last chance at a big club in terms of its suitability for him. If it didn't work out, he'd be content heading back to managing a team in the Bundesliga operating under the radar somewhat.

Not sure if that stance has changed now since his tenure at Chelsea. His stock must be higher purely off the back of the Champions League win, but maybe in his mind he feels more suited to a team slightly below elite level.

Say a Leipzig, Leverkusen type team (Leipzig has just sacked their manager so this might be one to keep an eye on).

Anyone else feel this was a mutual agreement? The sacking makes no sense which gives me the impression during their meeting Tuchel stated he can't do any more with the team?

I get the feeling Tuchel isn't too concerned with leaving. He hasn't seemed the same since the change in ownership, with the exception of that Spurs game.

If the team starts playing attacking football, that provides us with an opportunity to grow & CL football, he'll be given a chance. The issue is undoing the damage from previous windows that continues to affect every manager that walks through these doors.

I give him max 2 years before another circus continue to happen.

I certainly hope not, as this isn't sustainable. We need to go in a new direction & have a long-term plan in place.

Like many I can’t believe that we have chosen now to get shot of Tuchel. I certainly don’t like the way we have been playing but he deserved longer to sort things out. Why spend the money on Auba , who only Tuchel wanted, if a week later you sack him. Our record in transfers is abysmal — We got rid of Salah,De Bruyne,Tammy,Timori to name but 4 who have all had great success elsewhere, we spent a fortune on Lukaku but we keep Ziyech, Puli,Jorginho who should all have played their last game for us !! Even Mason needs to look himself in the mirror or he could go the same way as Ross Barkley. I suppose Potter might be worth a punt but I think the whole thing is becoming a sad joke

Genuinely gutted and like many others a little shocked the trigger has been pulled this early into the season BUT let's not act asif it's a complete surprise and TT is without blame.

He was making incredibly nieve team selections and the will to make the back 3 work was ultimately what lost the backing of his attacking options.

I sure as Hell hope Potter is the right man for the job.... we knew Bohely might want to start his new regime with a new manager, so this sacking for me, is a pass but the next manager better get his fair shot at building something for the long term.

People need to consider the greater scope when they claim the player's have downed tools.

Imagine playing out of position in a system that doesn't get the best out of your ability, week in week out. Your confidence is shot. This game is far more mental than physical and its no surprise why the likes of Pep and Klopp have sustainable systems. Confidence is soring high with these players yearly.

Actually, looking at number of cards Tuchel got this season, he could be the last one to care. Nah, fuck this, disgrace from the Club and I could only hope savior Boehly won't turn out new Glazers.

And people thinking we will "build on Potter from now on", or whoever - don't be naive. We were supposed to build rock-solid future on Lampard, keep Tuchel for decade and so on. Laughable circus.

Potter has done a great job at Brighton but dealing with our “big-time Charlie’s” is likely to be a totally different proposition. I think Poch might actually have something to prove in the Premiership, he knows European football and has experience of so called big names with big egos . To me it depends if Boelly wants a long term plan , which would be new to us (!!) in which case it’s Potter - or a short-term fix in which case it’s Poch.
