I thought Mikel was nice today as well. and yes mierles made it easier we all have to admit. He was always, always alongside mikel when we lost possesion. mikel was able intercept balls for when Newcastle got the ball it was always deepp in their own territory, he won ball around midfield and was always hitting someone for the attack. wheather it was ivan on the wing, hazard or even when he played torres through.

i think if u factor in bertrand as well, it was a midfield 3 in front of the defense and sometines even 4 when hazard tracked back. played well, glad to see that mierles-mikel worked out, i really am.

I thought Mikel did good because of the way the opponent plays.

They are physical side, and that style suits him.

But when it's against team that are more dynamic and good passer, like maybe a Swansea, I think he will suffer.

That is my theory...so only way to find out is see how he does when we play Arsenal, Swansea and such.
