Thank god we didn't rue his misses in the end and good for him on that too. Had a solid game otherwise.

And coming to Chelsea instead of Liverpool has proven to be the right decision! 🤣

Retards were making fun of him for deciding not to play the QF last season with Leipzig, now wins the trophy, karma.

Watch the goal again and pay attention to Werner. there is no goal without that run. That’s what he does all the fucking time.

yes he needs to get better at finishing and that’s coachable esp because like @Vesper suggested, he only really needs to score half the chances he creates to become a top striker.

Is 25 years old considered being in prime?

And where are your comments on your boy Ziyech? 👀

if 25yo is not prime then someone's age clock is broken

Messi at 24 and 25 years old (turned 25 in the middle) scored 91 goals in a calendar year

Stat of the day | 91: Messi's goals in a calendar year

Hopefully with improvement and bit of better luck next season, we'll see a much better Werner.

But Messi is Messi. lol

there are so many players whose primed years are 23 to 28, 29

I am profoundly against this far too often concept of a non GK player's true prime not happening until 29, 30yo or so

overall is simply NOT bourn out by the stats

obviously there are massive exceptions, put they prove the rule

I have shown thsi since I joined for fullbacks and DMF's especially

the drop for 95% once they pass 30yo is cray

Okay Vesper, this is not the night or time to debate with you on this. Let's just fucking celebrate! 🤣

Needs to score goals. 2 big chances tonight. Effort was good and his run helped in the goal but still concerned.

No good being good at the other stuff in his position if he cannot score big chances. Fortunately we didnt need more than one goal tonight though so that was a relief but those 2 big chances he had... those finishes/attempts were piss poor.

Seems a nice guy via interviews etc but ultimately when he puts that shirt on nobody will give a fuck if he doesnt deliver the goods. Next season has to be an improvement or he will be going back to Germany. Cannot be any excuses. Same for Ziyech also.

True but again the ironic thing with Werner, he is important to the way how Tuchel wants to play and that is why he has continuously been selected. The fact he also ended this season with the most assists in the team cannot be discounted either.

With improvement, some luck and maybe getting a striker to take the main goalscoring burden next season, we'll see an improved Werner.

Thats the thing he is important but if he doesn’t start adding goals he soon will find himself unimportant. You could see Tuchel’s frustration with Werner particularly tonight and in both legs v Real several times.

Plus with the transfer window opening soonish and a pre-season to fully implement his formation/tactics in a way he hasnt been able to this season, this means that a lot of people have to up their level, he and Ziyech both being two of them, as if he changes shape or gets a few bodies in, it could leave some people finding game time difficult to come by.

Manager being unhappy with players in games. It happens. Not sure if it needs to be dramatized.

May be a lot shorter than usual but its probably still going to be more time to work with players than playing every 3 days for 3/4 weeks solid.

He's gonna be able to work with a few players at most, unless somehow all the big nations get KOed out of the Euros early.

At the moment, he'll have only Kepa, Mendy, Alonso, Silva, Ziyech, Pulisic and CHO to work with.

He needs to finish, and score goals.

But he does all the right things on the field and creates so many opportunities. We need him to be more consistent, because he is one of the keys for us becoming a great team. We are a nightmare for anyone on any given night due to him and our pace and mobility up front, but for us to dominate teams, he and a few others need to start taking their chances.

Imagine how we would have humiliated all those great teams we played this season if Timo only had had an average conversion rate. 3 or 4 today, 5 or 6 vs Real... makes you wonder how high this team can still go once we fix our finishing woes.
