What was the talk about Sarri considering CHO on the same level as Pedro/Willian?! That was a cheap ploy to get Bayern to pay more for him. robsblubot 3,595
Never seen a manager turning to a young player, who hasn't yet shown anything, to *fix* a failing team. People are expecting CHO to get minutes because the team is not working, but it's exactly the other way around: manager and coaches will try to preserve him from the criticism and the stench of failure. Next manager will come in and do exactly the same, at least initially.

Nah the real reason why CHO wasn't subbed on is because he already subbed on Willian for Pedro, and he wouldn't take off Hazard at 2-0 down. He makes only like-for-like subs so that's wingers off the table, and after taking off Kovacic for the more attacking Barkley, the only other more attacking like-for-like sub left was Zappacosta for Azpi. kc_blue, DDA and Fernando

Ah in this game, sure. Never been a big fan of Napoli style of play, so have no problem criticizing sarri, but I honestly think people are overly blaming him for losing the locker room. It's not about wanting him out - perhaps the players just don't believe in him or in his system enough to make it work. Seems to happen a lot with these players.... Just be ready that the next manager will use CHO sparingly too. Expect the same if the team is struggling. My 2-cent prediction. Unless CHO is killing it in practice sessions, which I don't believe. When that happens coaches and management would usually step in. Fernando
!Hazard! 3,394
Regardless of who's the manager, CHO will not be starting games on a weekly basis as long as players like Hazard, Willian and Pedro are in the squad. People who think a new manager will just come in and start playing some 18 year old ahead of those experienced internationals are deluded. If they cared enough about youth development that would have been in the managers contract... not hearsay... You'd never get that sort of thing into a managerial contract. Indeed they always explicitly say the exact opposite. Sole control over team selection and tactics, etc, etc. Of course clubs can make plain to managers that they are expected to buy into the organisation's culture but who knows how those conversations went. manpe 10,861
I'm thinking now that the board telling Sarri that CHO "probably" won't leave in the summer either, means they have told CHO to wait because there is a good chance Sarri won't be here for the next season. Maybe Sarri thought of that too and is now sending the board some kind of message?Sent from my Mi A1 using Tapatalk

Sent from my Mi A1 using Tapatalk I think the general plan was/is to keep him till the end to try and change his mind. A month ago i feel it was almost certain Sarri was getting a second seasons and there was a general acceptance this transition wasn't easy, i think the capilualations Arsenal and beyond has caused a rethink all round (board and which fans were still behind him).
