Definitely think Giroud will go in Jan. Deserves to as well. Can go to France and be the main man at a decent club where he can be very effective still.

Now that we have a striker in Tammy who is bigger and good holding it up, we should bring in a different sort of forward than we've had in years past. A pacey, second striker type. Someone in the Griezmann or Son style. A player who can play across the front line. Don't know who that would be, though.

Werner?

Mbappe will probably leave in 2021 for something like 200m which seems like a fair deal for all parties.

I say at least £250m and zero shock if 275-300m

who buys him (if it is summer 2021 and probably already now tbh) is buying a 22yo who is hands down, at that point, the best player on the planet (Messi and CR7 being felled by father time)

you would get 10 years or so peak play (especially if it goes done in 2020, when he is 21)

look at it as 25m to 30m per year new transfer spent

for what is probably 400 plus goals all comps (and maybe 500 plus if he gets up to CR7/Messi levels and he is already STREETS AHEAD of both for his age)

his marketing rights alone are worth hundreds of millions

Sell 2 and buy only 1?!

Yes please, it's regular thing for clubs who play with one striker to have just one replacement. We operate like this for years. After all Giroud can't make it to the bench. Real have just two strikers and everyone speaks how little game time Luka Jovic gets.

Not seen our recent injury record?

All clubs should have at least 2 replacements for every position.

Just because another club is doing it, doesn't mean it's the right one. In the case of Madrid, they have players who could fill in if their strikers get injured. Who do we have? One serious injury to one of the strikers and we're totally f**ked with just one.

Giroud isn't getting game time because he simply doesn't suit what Lampard wants.

No chance. Why would a club sell a player who cost almost 200m, whos eclipsed Neymar who cost 220m, as the main man of their team and is significantly younger.... if Mbappe goes for 200m Id be so surprised. They will have significantly undersold him.

Because they risk losing him for free the following year.

It will never come to that. Youd be mad if youd think Paris would keep him for that long and risk that. They were going to be offering him a new deal but because of the wages hes currently on and what Neymar is on, its complicated. They will get over 275m for if they go to sell this upcoming summer, 100%.

Giroud nets winner as France beats Moldova 2-1 in qualifying

PARIS

Olivier Giroud scored the winning goal from the penalty spot as a lackluster France rallied to beat Moldova 2-1 on Thursday to move ahead of Turkey in their European Championship qualifying group.

Giroud confidently smacked the spot kick into the left corner in the 79th minute after left back Lucas Digne was tripped running onto a return pass from Kylian Mbappé. It moved Giroud onto 39 international goals and just two behind Michel Platini in France’s all-time scorers’ list, which Thierry Henry tops with 51.

France had already qualified for Euro 2020 earlier Thursday because Iceland drew 0-0 at Turkey, guaranteeing France and Turkey the top two positons in Group H. France is two points ahead of Turkey and completes its qualifying away to Albania on Sunday.

But a sloppy and patchy performance, punctuated by missed passes and clumsy errors, annoyed France coach Didier Deschamps, who said he could have taken any of “five or six” players off at halftime.

It is obvious that Lampard doesn’t rate Giroud at all.

But we can’t sell him in January. We cannot continue to rely on Abraham throughout the season.

It is impossible for Frank not to rate Giroud. The problem with Giroud is that he is definitely gone after this season.

Giroud this season is still a Chelsea player, under contract and is collecting his wages from us. That shouldn't be the reason why he's now perma-benched until Abraham is injured.

The question is who should play Giroud or michy. Giroud is pretty much a goner after next season, whereas there is a chance for michy to be here.

Inter chief held talks with Chelsea over signing Blues ace in January during London trip

https://www.caughtoffside.com/2019/11/16/inter-chief-held-talks-with-chelsea-over-signing-blues-ace-in-january-during-london-trip/

It has been reported that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio held talks with Chelsea this week over the possibility of signing Olivier Giroud in January.

The 33-year-old stalwart has struggled to secure regular playing time with the Blues so far this season, as he has been limited to just six appearances across all competitions.
