Now Giroud wants to leave, lolol. He is out of contract on June 30th 2019, so can walk on a free.

If no summer 2019 window and Higuain isnt allowed to extend his loan, say hello to Bats and Tammy as our only CF's. Eeeek.

If Hazard isnt allowed to go and the smoker is still our manager it will be false 9 city baby!

TRANSFER NEWS: CHELSEA STRIKER OLIVIER GIROUD OPEN TO LYON MOVE

http://www.thehardtackle.com/news/2019/03/21/transfer-news-chelsea-striker-olivier-giroud-open-to-lyon-move/

Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud is admittedly open towards a move to Lyon in the summer transfer window, having seen his role reduced this season.

In an interview with French outlet Footmercato, Olivier Giroud has confessed that he would like to play for a club that will offer him more regular game time than he is currently receiving at Chelsea. To that end, the 32-year-old striker has admitted that he would be open to returning to France, with a move to Lyon a possibility.

Giroud joined Chelsea from London rivals Arsenal last year, having spent a fruitful five-and-a-half years with the Gunners, wherein he won three FA Cup titles. The move across the British capital has not exactly panned out well for the Frenchman, who has continued to remain a bit-part player over the last 15 months or so.

ffs...it seems everyone is having a good time away with the national teams.

Ironically, its the players who are 3'rd or 4'th choice picks for their national teams, that end up starting games for us, instead.

He's a decent asset when on a run of form like he is at the moment, his problem however is he seems to have one prolonged spell a season where he goes on a destructive goal drought and his play drops to bang average levels, he cost Arsenal the title in 2016 because of that.

Speaking after the 4-3 win at Stamford Bridge, Sarri said: “He [Giroud] is sure [to stay] because the club has an option for another year, another season. I spoke to the club two days ago and we agreed to exercise the option. So, he will remain.”

Olivier Giroud is yet to sign a new Chelsea contract and there is interest in him back in France. Nice president Gauthier Ganaye has hinted at a move.

“He is at the end of his contract, he still performs well at his age,” Ganaye told Telefoot. Giroud is 32. “Come on, let’s tell you it’s possible. His salary? Yeah, it’s really expensive."
