It's utterly ridiculous that we play a back 3 system with braindead wing backs. Zappacosta/Alonso/Moses all lack the key qualities to really maximize the position and in this system. Its wouldnt be Chelsea not to have brain dead right backs at SW6. This Freddie Mercury lookylikey is just following a long fine tradition ''Put Essien in there !'' Cant beat Khalid 'the Kannibal' Boularouz for outright headless chickenitis though DDA, 11Drogba, Amblève. and 1 other
LAM09 7,077
Problem is, he gets himself into good positions but after that, he just suffers brainfarts. There were talks about him capable of delivering good crosses but we haven't seen any so far.Think we've seen glimpses but he couldn't hit one to save his life yesterday. Was quite happy with his performance actually, solid enough, got stuck in, not got Moses pace though, Moses really gets us up the pitch, think for a squad player he’s a good option. I think that’s his problem, or rather our problem. We needed a starter, but we bought a back up. Jase 43,479
Have to say, watching Zappacosta play at LWB last night was an "interesting" experience. It was clear that he has never played there before or if he has, then he has no clue how to make it work in that position. Was quite annoying to see him keep on coming inside onto his right foot because against teams like Atletico, you want the WBs to maintain the width and stretch their backline but in the end, he made it easy for Atletico to contain him. That said, one noticeable - and it's not hard to notice - as well as positive thing is that we got a glimpse of our attack looking much more dangerous with pace down the left hand side. Zappacosta didn't do anything great there last night but in one situation, his pace and the ability to inject it into the play saw him almost score from distance last night. Now, all we need is to get a proper pacey, intelligent LWB in the transfer window...
The Skipper 20,609
Don’t see why we just didn’t give Dujon a chance. He’s so painstakingly average.

Magic Lamps 11,692
He cant cross so save his life. How on earth has he become a fullback? That decent burst of pace he has is literally his only strength he is like a carbon copy of bosingwa. But at least bosingwa would raise his game against high class opposition and marked Messi out of the game 3 times.

Popular Post! MrExcalibur100 7,124 Posted December 23, 2017 Popular Post! Share Posted December 23, 2017 He's trash. I needed only 1 game to see that. With some players you just know. No redeeming qualities and very little upside. Alonso is not that much better by the way. And we wonder why we're 16 points behind with players like this. Amblève., Miki-Liki, The Chels and 2 others

Barca was a freak exception to the rule with him. Azpinator
the wes 7,212
He's just not good enough I'm fed up watching us buy average wing backs why city sign buy quality wing backs Alonso and zappacosta would make great back ups that's all but
Pizy 19,014
Zappa seems clearly suited to a counter attacking style where he can run onto the ball in space. When a team is camped in their own half for 99% of the time like Everton were and he has to square up his marker and beat him with a dribble he's nearly useless as we saw. Think we can honestly say he was a panic buy. Came completely out of nowhere once we realized we couldn't get a world class wingback. Guess we couldn't get as lucky as we got when we panic bought Alonso last year.
