These reactions were here even before this game. And before that as well, to be honest.

So he was playing through injury? Didn't see the game, but it's no surprise that he played poorly. Don't get distracted, all eyes on the board :middlefinger:

I think it massively affected his play (mental side included)

he seemed disjointed more than usual

WAYYY to much pressure on the lad for his first topflight season

two things killed us this window

Cavani

and

Telles and/or Gosens (and sell/swap one (or both) of the two dregs brothers LB's we are paying to sit on the bench)

insane that PSG would not just let us give them a bit of cash (or better even, Giroud) AND pay all his bloody salary for a 5 month loan, after which he can hop, skip, and jump his happy arse to Madrid

now he walks on a free, as does Giroud

lose lose

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham suffers fresh ankle injury as he pulls up in the cool down after Champions League drubbing by Bayern Munich

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8048331/Chelseas-Tammy-Abraham-suffers-fresh-ankle-injury-pulls-cool-Bayern-clash.html

Tammy Abraham is facing a fresh spell on the sidelines after aggravating his recent ankle injury to heap more stress on Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.

Lampard is in the midst of his toughest period since returning to Stamford Bridge as boss in the summer but retains the backing of club chiefs, though a failure to qualify for next season's Champions League could make him vulnerable.

And his concerns mounted yesterday as it emerged Abraham pulled up during the cool-down after Tuesday's 3-0 Champions League loss to Bayern Munich complaining of discomfort in his ankle.

Ffs if he is pulling up in a cool down, surely he clearly wasnt fit or recovered enough to be playing or in the squad? I mean he has rarely had a history of injuries either in his career. We are turning into Arsenal with these constant injuries and its only happened since this summer.

Not sure what is happening behind closed doors but weve never had this problem with huge amounts of recurring injuries with multiple players in a season as far as I can remember. Throughout points of the season Emerson, Rudiger, Kante and now Tammy have been injured, came back then gotten injured again within a short time. Throw in Pulisic who has had his own problems, Pedro has been out this season, Callum was out (meant to be close to coming back though) and Kante being injured again too with a different issue now. Something needs to be looked at.

Lampard flogging Abraham to death earlier this season has really come bite us in the arse. He said Abraham is not doing anything active for a couple of days and doesn't know when he will be back.

Yes. I think you were on here making the point. Why wasn't Giroud used until he absolutely had to be used?

What do you mean by that? Abraham is 22 years old. He has 35 games at this back this season. 30 years old Immobile has 32 for Lazio. Mane has 34 for Liverpool. Lampard deserves a lot of criticism, but flogging players to death is not one of them.

Lampard on Abraham's injury...

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/feb/28/chelsea-prescribe-rest-for-tammy-abrahams-troublesome-ankle

“Tammy is not active for the next couple of days,” Lampard said. “How long is he going to be out? I don’t know. The inflammation is causing pain, so we are looking at ways to get rid of it. Could surgery be an option? As far as I know, no. It’s certainly not been mentioned.

“It’s a month later [from the Arsenal game] and we’re still talking about it so it’s been a frustrating one. We have seen him come back and then go away again. Sometimes things that are [to do with] pain threshold are like that. If he is not comfortable, he has to come out for a few days at least and see where it is going.”
