I honestly don't know what fans expect from him. 

He can't work miracles without any backing in the transfer window. 

We were clearly lacking in terms of fullbacks and wingers heading into the season.  The board do nothing about it apart from signing Zappacosta on deadline day (who has looked average at best).

You replace Conte with any other attainable manager and I doubt we would be in top-4.

Do people know what they're even saying? Conte out? Fucking hell. I'm hearing a lot of complaining about not being fluid going forward and not threatening defensive teams like Everton enough etc etc. 

The fact of the matter is if you're watching the games with close eyes you'll notice that there are no problems in terms of movement, creating and finding half spaces, making triangles between players, etc. The 'only' thing missing right now is the end product. We would have won against Everton with two proper wing backs. The amount of space that was offered to Moses/Zappa/Alonso and the little they provided is absolutely scandalous. With a better winger than Willian, at least one of those flicks would have worked and we'd have probably scored against Everton. 

If you're looking for a team that looks absolutely clueless and void of any attacking movement then you should look back at Mourinho's 15/16 side. It's funny how people's minds forget things so easily. That team would barely score a goal that wasn't an opposition mistake or simply an individual moment of brilliance. We couldn't even pass the ball out from the back.

With this team, we're making the right movements, we're very good at building from the back, our pressing after losing the ball is quite good. What is missing is the little bit of quality from our players. We have great players in this team, but we also have bang average ones starting week in week out. 

With Alex Sandro Sandro, Sidibe (or any other very good rwb) and a better back-up striker than Batshuayi I bet we'd have at least 9 points more than we do at the moment. It's criminal how we have such poor wing backs in a Conte system - where wing-backs are supposed to play a huge role. None of our wing-backs are great at beating players 1v1 (Alonso is absolutely shocking). None of our wing-backs are good at beating the opponent's press and driving forward with athleticism. They also have terrible end product (Alonso is only good at shooting - given the right amount of space and time only). They alongside players like Willian absolutely no genuine quality from open-play in games where we need them. I'm not even talking about scoring an outrageous goal or making phenomenal passes, I'm talking about having the basic qualities like the ones I mentioned for wingbacks, and not fucking up passes at the end of great movements. This is the problem of lack of quality in the squad, and it was not addressed by the board in the summer.

But if he doesn't get the support he needs and obviously asked for (just as Mou did) then what do you expect when our closest rivals all upgraded their starters.Now we know how Gooners felt when they were/are sleeping in the transfer market.

And how many managers have we had with the bottle to play a 17 year old? You've all whined about not letting youth have a chance well he's doing it.

I want him to stay and just upgrade the squad.

A lot of kids on social media and YouTube spreading some really negative propaganda about the club and the manager. It is so embarrassing to hear so called Chelsea supporters shit on a man who delivered us from obscurity and set records in the process.

 

Many complain about the style of football being too defensive? Really? I mean the fact of the matter is our true strength lies in defense. Of our 4 world class players 3 of them take up defensive roles. We have one absolutely brilliant attacker and the rest are average or maybe just good.

 

We play a style that is catered to the strengths of the team, what sense does it make to play possession football with the likes of Alonso, Kante, Bakayoko, Pedro and Morata aren't great in possession? I mean that's half the team! Even if you add cesc and take out Bakayoko(which will lead to a whole other set of problems) even Cesc is not great in possession, he gives the ball away and likes to play more direct.

 

You give Antonio Conte the backing and support he's never had in his career and I think you have a world beater of a team. Truly I only think this team is maybe two or three players away from eclipsing the likes of Bayern and Juventus. What he's asking for here is an investment of maybe 130m? There are a number of ways to go about how you spend it too. Either you buy a left sided midfielder who can attack like Lemar or a LWB in Sandro. If you get Lemar then the next move is to offset him with a more defensive minded wingback on the right like Azpi.

 

We will need a goalscoring right sided attacker as well, someone with real quality in the final third, perhaps someone like... Fekir, Malcom or even Leon Bailey perhaps even Zaha... just someone who has quality in the final third.

 

You get Conte the players he needs and we will be miles ahead of the game. All these PlayStation managers on social media would fall back and change their misguided tune.

Though we won the game today, I'm sure I'm not alone in not wanting to watch a home game against a promoted team with 7 defensive players + our goalkeeper. If we were more ambitious we would have blown them away. Brighton just lacked any real quality to punish out inept 1st half. A better team would have taken some points off us today.

What is wrong with him this season? Why so negative. Okay we're not competing for the title but at least lets see some ambition.

You can bring in Guardiola and Sarri as assistant coach nothing would change. Only formation. Too many wrong players in the squad. This is why Pep rejected us at first place. Last 2 summer transfer windows were the definition of human stupidity. Spending +£400m mostly on squad players. For that amount of money we should look like Real Madrid on (at their best) and off the field (on the paper). Thanks god on Antonio Conte. He upgraded almost every player to the possibly maximum level. And most of them are limited and one dimensional. Shame he didn’t get his first team targets. I don’t know. Don’t expect him to stay because it’s Roman’s toy. But definitely people should show more respect to Antonio for what he’s done and he is still doing with this average team.

What did you think was the difference between the first half and second today? Conte didn't change anything at HT and yet we looked far more threatening after the break.

I think it was the early goal we scored. Burnley had to be a bit more proactive after that and it left a bit more space for us to play.

Maybe. But then again, even when we have scored early like in previous home games, we still played at a pedestrian pace - e.g. the wins over Swansea, Bournemouth.

We need to start with more attacking players. There are too many limited players in that XI we started. It's been a while we actually went for a 3-4-3 with Hazard, Morata and Pedro. I want to see that next game

We don't have a big enough squad to decide how we want to play game after game. Pedro and Willian played 4 straight games in short window of time.

Conte is managing the squad, we just don't have the squad depth to play the way you think is acceptable against smaller teams.

We have more defenders than we have attackers right now, look at the squad what else could be done to rectify this?

He most definitely changed something. Bakayoko was basically a secondary striker today. The shape looked like 3-2-5, Moses and Alonso were basically wingers not wingbacks.



We had an excellent reaction in the second half and it showed in the final score.

Pedro and Willian played 4 straight games in short window of time. So has Hazard, no? Besides those two players are squad players.They've gone through stretches were they haven't played for weeks. I see no reason why they should be as fatigued as actual first XI players like Hazard, Kante and Cesar. It's just a cheap excuse.

Face it Conte is a defense first manager at heart. We're not the only ones with a small squad. Liverpool and Spurs are blowing the weaker teams away because they have attack minded managers
