The Mourinho Thread

My Take.

Jose won the Uefa Cup and Champions League including everything you can possibly win in Portugal. He came to us, a new country, a new challenge, a club that hasn't won the league for 50 years with an owner willing to spend and do whatever it takes. He won everything in England. JOB DONE! that's not enough to keep repeating over and over.... BORING. Jose is Jose, the special one, he wanted another challenge. He went to Italy, won EVERYTHING in Italy, plus another Champions League. Again..Mr Mourinho wanted yet a new challenge, the biggest challenge at the biggest club in the world, the club that has been surpassed by Barcelona in recent years. He went to Spain and with Real Madrid, and what happened? Yes, he won EVERYTHING again. What's left?

I believe now, now that Jose is 50, he's 50 right? I believe he's ready to stay at a club for 10 years or so and i reckon it will be with us. Jose was never gonna commit fully when he was trying to make a name for himself, and because of the path he's taken, look at his impact. He wanted to make a name for himself and win everything, he did it. Now settle down dude, seriously.

I think he'll like to manage Portugal one day though and win a trophy but that will be just before he retires. 15 years with us, 5 with Portugal, career over. That's what i think anyway, could be wrong of course lol. I don't think he was sacked, lets put it that way.

After watching his whole interview, i think i got that bang on. He wanted "the grand slam" so he always planned to move on after completing England and as he was saying he was offered the Madrid job 3 times. He wasn't sacked and he's had the career he wanted. Him and Roman planned this all along.

You may go crazy in the FIFA Pro forum and cane your money - but you talk sense on these pages ;)

I was smiling throughout that entire Interview. To be honest he looks really tired so it's a complete lie when he says he doesn't need a Holiday :P Hope he takes one and comes back mentally ready to conquer.

Great to have Jose back...it`s been a long time coming. can`t wait to be able to gaze at him in awe from the stands and my serious man-crush again is re-ignited.. be interesting to see how he improves our squad by mostly the players already here and then the odd players he helps bring in.

happy days again.

"I am a special one" - Jose in quotes

On his relationship with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich :

"If Roman Abramovich helped me out in training we would be bottom of the league and if I had to work in his world of big business, we would be bankrupt!"

His reaction when police questioned him over whether his dog had a pet passport :

"The dog is fine in Portugal - that big threat is away - you don't have to worry about crime any more."

On his often troubled relationship with Arsenal, and in particular Arsene Wenger :

"Some clubs are treated as devils, some are treated as angels. I don't think we are so ugly that we should be seen as the devil and I don't think Arsene Wenger and David Dein are so beautiful that they should be viewed as angels."

On Wenger again : :Goober:

"Wenger has a real problem with us and I think he is what you call in England a voyeur. He is someone who likes to watch other people. There are some guys who, when they are at home, have this big telescope to look into the homes of other people and see what is happening. Wenger must be one of them - and it is a sickness."

On his newly-cropped hairstyle :

"Look at my haircut. I am ready for the war."

One thing to take away from the interview is that while talking about young players benefiting from stability, he specifically mentioned David Luiz as being one of them. While it is by no means a guarantee that he will stay in the end, I think it is a sure sign that Mou have in no way asked for him to be sold.
Knowing Mou, I would even say that it is possible that he mentioned him just to end the stupid speculation about him wanting to sell DL.

Anyway, Mou might be older and have more white hairs, but I think the circle have been completed for him. I always thought that he saw Real as the endgoal of his career, but considering how things went this season Chelsea will take that role instead. I am delighted that he is back, and even though I live in Australia I will make sure to get som tickets for the early games of next season.
