It seems like Mourinho motivates teams and coaches to prove him wrong.

I remember when Mourinho was bashing Barcelona cause they had not won many CL trophies while he won one with Porto. Then Barcelona becomes one of the best teams bashing every team in europe.

Now he went on saying that Wenger is a specialist in failure, and Wenger has the clear chances of winning a trophy soon......

This theory deserves a Nobel!

They're saying Mourinho is going to sign a new CB, LB and ST as his main targets during the next window.

I really wish he didn't love Ramires that much and actually replaced the CB for a top #8, but as I also said a few times, it's not going to happen. Ramires is going to stay at Chelsea forever under Mourinho.

Anyway, this is aligned with what we've been talking and I do hope Shaw comes and a great striker. Now who could the CB be? I'm still not sure Varane's release clause is so low, but if that's the case, then I'd say bring him. I can't think of a better prospect unless it's someone more experienced... but we only need experience if Luiz leaves

why some ppl like to complicated things? football is simple. score more than goal conceded. even jose tried to complicate at the beginning of this season. fortunately he back to his sense and the result is we back on top with least conceded team.

other teams always make it complicated with their motto bla bla, philosophy bla bla, the best defense is offense... the simple thing to do, and mou said its easier, sort the defense right is first thing first, then follow that up with improvement in attacking area.

PS: Goal.com are getting more reliable the last couple of years, but the 'Guarin to Chelsea' news was a major blow to their reputation, they stuck to it the whole January ... hope this on is also inaccurate

The chance of signing of Varane is -100%. We go in and bid, they are gonna bump his wages up to 100k or more. More like selling Luiz and bringing Zouma in, maybe Mangala too if Porto accept an offer from City that we can match(anything more than 20m for him is overpriced for me). LB is Shaw obviously, kind of destined to happen as he admits to being a Chelsea fan, Cole is leaving too= perfect timing. ST is not even needed to discuss about.

If Olympiakos manage to get through obviously them...otherwise I would have to say PSG or Dortmund. Atletico might seem the weakest they have actually been one of the best team in Europe this season. Their defence is just as good as us, I don't think that would suit our counter attacking game at all. Obviously Barca, Bayern and Real are just too strong while PSG got the best ST and CB in the world but still beatable. I think Jose would most likely choose Dortmund again if he has to and would want to or MU because now they are shit under Moyes.

I think we can beat anyone at UCL right now except Real Madrid. Bayern would be difficult but I believe we can do it. I hardly see us beating RM right now but I believe Bayern can beat them. I guess Bayern is a bad match up for them and they're a bad match up for us because of the teams' styles.

In terms off it being a tie it's a one off, manager's prepare effectively for a 180 minute match, which is why first leg's in the latter stages can turn into tedious game's off chess, cause really it's a 90 minute first half.

Ah right I see yh I agree, thing is sometime that 1st game can be a real killer blow, like Schalke, Arsenal and tomorrow City found out, Milan too that losing at home is a bad idea. It doesn't work to go full on defensive just because they are a better team like City found out eventually or Milan 1st leg. Not good to go all out attack either like Arsenal. But I am sure in Jose he will know what to do, just hope he doesn't repeat the fk up of Dortmund last season again if we get Madrid/Bayern, need to play like against City imo.

True, we are no small team to think like that. But without Matic and a proper striker i simply cannot realisticly put us favourites for CL. Also the importance of PL is not because of some disbelieve of me that we cannot expect anything from CL, but is genuinely first in my preference list since I think it's what we need right now. That means if I had to choose one, I'd choose PL 100%

Madrid are not a team for now (a lot of individualism in the system), while Bayern is a PERFECT team. dont think that the Super Cup result is relevant at all. this was the beginning of the season and Bayern was nowhere as good as they are now. Bayern could also easily smash us, if they have a very good day. Bayern would be really the least opponent I would like to have. Madrid is more vulnerable, especially in defense and on counter-attacks. Futhermore their system isnt worked out yet and has some flaws in it. especially when the opponent is pressing them high on the pitch, they are looking lost at times (Atletico game for example). Bayern is the best team in the world right now and we would struggle with their speed and their pressing. Especially with Matic missing and our pivot being not that good.

Best opponent would be Piräus/United though without a doubt. Atletico,Dortmund, Barca would be tough opponents, but beatable. PSG, Real, Bayern would be the least I want.

I gave you exactly why and furthermore that's my opinion, so we're not discussing facts here. For me it's about match-ups. I think Bayern's style is less challenging for us than RM. Simple like that, never said Bayern is a better or worse team nor that it would be easy. We drew with Bayern in a glorified friendly a week after we were slammed by Real Madrid - in case you don't remember... All three teams progressed a lot since then, but I think the difficulties each team offers would still be the same and I think we can handle better a possession team like Bayern, than an explosive, offensive and mainly objective Real Madrid. You talk about Bayern not being the same team then, but you seem to ignore we aren't the same as well. I'm talking about styles, not simply about those matches, but I think one thing we can take from those matches is that RM and Bayern improved, but they didn't change their philosophies. I hope we don't get either, but between the two of them, I'd rather Bayern.
