The Mourinho Thread

You see how Everton plays?

They play with a purpose, and passion.

This is something a good manager can do, sort of like what Mourinho does.

So I will not be so quick to judge Moyes.

Lets see how he does in his first 3 season.

United being the club they are, they won't fire anybody for one bad season, they will judge in an overall tally. I think 3 years will be good enough to judge Moyes time at United.

What's so special about that? Obviously he's going to have something good about him or he wouldn't get the job, but he's incredibly unproven and he will not have much money to spend.

These are footballers, it's a big change for them, it's a downside of having a manager for so long i assume. Where as we have a manager every few seconds it's not really much of a surprise. Moyes has also had a history of bottling cups, he's bottled so many trophies, Everton fans have even said that, some of them have wanted him gone for a long time because it's so stressfull when he gets to the semi final makes the wrong decisions and plays the wrong players, he lacks that composure.

And also he has had no Champions League experience, so that wont be easy by any means. Moyes takes no shit, he will enforce dicipline to the players, so it's going to be another change. I really don't expect this to go so swimmingly as some others think it will be.

You really need to do your home work mate, Glazors are in huge debt. (btw this isn't the first time you've been wrong, you need to start knowing things before posting)

10 years ago before they took over, United was a financial fit club, very fit, Ferguson worked hard to achieve that, then Glazors took voer and brought their massive debt with them. Glazors can only pay their daily debts, but when the time comes they will be fucked, and that time will come, however in the meantime they are still giving away a lot of money, theirs not that much to spend, and you think he's going to give so much to the club? Has it ever concerned you when Ferguson screams in the papers about needing the players and he doesn't get them? It's clearly obvious that the owners isn't giving them enough money, it was only when they lost the title they seemed to give them some money for once and they got Kagawa and Van Persie.

It deosn't matter how much money United make, the Glazors debt can never be saved, they are in way too much debt than what they can deal with, it's only a matter of time.

I'll ignore the ad-hominem and address the topic. Their profits are rising and they're reducing the debt. Here's the latest from Swiss Ramble (an excellent blog on the finances of football clubs):

The good news is that gross debt continues to fall, down from £437 million in June 2012 to £368 million in Q3 following the repurchase of £63 million of bonds. In fact, gross debt has been greatly reduced since the £773 million peak in 2010 with the hideously expensive PIKs now repaid.

United again demonstrated their ability to generate vast amounts of cash from their football operations with £57 million, spending a net £33 million on players (£41 million player purchases less £8 million sales), £11 million on infrastructure (property and equipment) and £2.7 million to complete the purchase of the club’s own TV channel, MUTV.

To sum it up he wrote:

So, this is a very good set of figures from Manchester United with even more growth to come, both from the seemingly never-ending stream of new sponsors and the blockbuster Premier League TV deal, which should be worth at least another £30 million.

They have debt but it's nowhere near the problem you're making it out to be. You don't even take into account how financial fair play will change things. It will reduce our's and City's spending and strengthen their position immensely.

Here's the blog by the way http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/manchester-united-higher-than-sun.html

That's not the problem, the problem is the Glazors, you've been ignoring what I've said about them. If the glazors are in debt, then United are in debt, that's the way it works. They are billions in debt, but they can pay there day to day debts, so yeah they are going to be around for longer.

They've never loved the club, the fans despise them, some fans even made a new club because of them, they wont take out so much money to put into the club.

But whatever you want to think though, the truth is theirs no way the glazors are going to put in 100 million for new transfers, because that's how much someone like Moyes will need if he wants to challenge for the title, he wont be able to get the best out of his United squad like Ferguson did.

Well even Chelsea got debt, but we pay no interest.

Only problem would be if Roman decides to leave and take his money back:

That said, it is not really true to say that Chelsea is debt-free, as these loans still exist in the holding company, amounting to £895 million as at June 2012. They are interest free, but are repayable with 18 months notice. It must be considered unlikely that Abramovich would ever call in this debt, but it is theoretically possible.

I haven't ignored what you've said about them. I'm just making the point that Manchester United are a very stable club with regards to their finances, more stable than either us or City because we don't have their revenue and will be handicapped by financial fair play.

Yep, that's true, if Roman decided to leave they reckon we would completely fold within a few weeks and just be demolished from the world of football.

A scary thought I must say, although if Roman loves this club as much as we think then that wont happen, also if the Roman empire continues to live on, then his younger son is meant to take the club, as he is a long loving Chelsea supporter, arcane abramovich or something like that. It was that dude next to roman who has jumping about all over in the CL final, that's his son and meant to be successor.

Only thing is us and City can handle it, and our owners are more than willing to invest, they also have more interest in our clubs. I think Glazors actually pay more attention to their american teams rather than United itself.

Chelsea captain JT feels the club owes all it´s success to owner Roman.

He made a big investment in this club. He clearly loves Chelsea & has given everything to be champions of the PL & CL.

Therefore, Roman has no intention to leave & certainly he does not need money.

Nothing to worry about boys.
