Literally this is why football is viewed as the game of pussies. People crying over a tiny off the ball incident for days on end...

Anyone would think we were gooners!

Who actually on a couple of their sites I snooped on had quite a few of his defenders on them and wished they had a player like him.

Oh, brilliant. The psychiatrists are out

Yes, that is the only reason anyone would be opposed to one of our players regularly assaulting opposition defenders.....

But two can play this game! Heck, I'll go full Freud and say that those who are defending Costa's actions are only doing so because they secretly want to fuck their own mums! :D

:D

Rules are rules and Costa's act on saturday are prohibitted by this same rules governing the sport. Why is it ever okay for any player to break them? If Costa is so desperate to touch/slap/punch his opponent he should have tried a career in boxing or WWE instead.

And personally I prefer the direction football has taken to keep the game as clean as possible. And i can't be the only one that doesn't care for the ugly side of the game.

I can see I touched a nerve, must have brought back some memories of you getting knocked about as a kid on the football pitch.

and you act like Costa just goes around picking on defenders for no reason! Costa gives as good as he gets, don't act like he is picking on innocent people, Costa has been punched, kicked and even spat on in his career, but yeah Costa is a terrible person, and those poor defenders are angels right?

and yet you are fine with someone being a racist cannibal as long as they are really good at football.

Oh the media can sod off. They are sleazy sport journos, they can't claim to have moral superiority over anyone. I don't care one bit about them.

But it still remains that he does not NEED to do any of that. Hands open or closed make little difference to me, he doesn't need to slap nor punch anyone.

You've mentioned Chopper, for me JT is a personal hero. He's physical, a hard tackler, he never shies away from contact or from confrontation, and he's one of the most passionate and emotional players I've ever seen but he's never punched, elbowed, stamped on, head butted anyone.

I notice you dont include 'kick' players in Terrys repertoire. Hes kicked plenty, barca player in the back for one, and getting sent off, and he's squared up to plenty, in a very Costa-esque manner.

Attackers are more vulnerable to cynical fouls, wind ups, and constant verbals than defenders. Would I prefer it if Costa didnt respond ? Only if the energy was transmitted into scoring goals, but thats his game. Roy Keane would have been mediocre without his aggression, as would John Mcenroe.

As long as hes doing the business for Chelsea I dont think Chelsea fans whose sensibilities have been ruffled should kick up a fuss, and condemning him is counter productive. But it would be boring if every player adhered to the same behaviour and likewise if all fans all thought the same.

Not gonna quote you but you just like to have a moan. Not bothered.

Typical response when a poster has no solid rebuttal to the point being made. Let's make the beautiful game more ugly and dirty for Kieran's own personal pleasure. Why don't we. To hell with the rules.

It is 'a game of pussies' though. Same goes for basketball. It's a game of skill and the mind, not so much brawn. In Europe anyway. If you want to see men go at each other, you watch rugby or any kind of form of professional fighting.

As for people going on for days, I don't understand how they find the energy, interest and time. The issue became boring when night time came on Saturday but that's just me.

I'm just happy it annoys the Specialists in Choking so much.

Or find a striker like Lewandowski, Suarez, Aguero...etc who is NOT AFRAID and also doesn't act like a complete cunt every match? no middle ground though as usual.

Ok we never really had the chance to sign any of them in the past and now we certainly don't at all so please name me a striker as good as those 3 who isn't a cunt and would be better than Costa..... without actually naming those 3? You can't do it really. Benzema maybe but even then he blows hot and cold and when it gets tough for Madrid hes never anywhere to be seen.

First thing that came to my mind as I read this was JT's ultimate fuck up prior to our triumphant CL finale when he casually and unnecessarily kicked a Barca player and got the red. He's not as rough around the edges as Costa, but he's no angel either.

So will anyone be surprised if he gets retrospectively banned? It's the FA we're talking about here. They'll probably give Diego a 3 game ban and rescind Gabriel's red card knowing them. Also, if José had called the referee incompetent like Wenger did you know he'd be fined. Wenger is damn near untouchable.

Well you don't win trophies with a squad of 25 nice, friendly, non aggressive, not willing to step over the line at times players. You need a few provocative bastards in there. Ivanovic, Matic, JT, heck even Ramires and Costa aren't exactly angels. You wont win much with a squad of 25 Mikel Artetas or 25 Joe Allens.

That was literally the ONLY time. It was a one time stupid mistake as he himself would tell you. Correct me if I'm wrong but I genuinely can't remember any other similar incident. That is no way comparable to Costa (I'm actually a bit offended someone would compare JT to him!).

It is NOT typical of him or part of his character. Actually the way he did it so naively and blatantly only highlights how out of character it was for him. Whereas Costa does it 'expertly' which for me only makes it worse.

As for drawing energy from it, you can draw energy from clean physical competition as Didier used to do. Does anyone really need more motivation than being paid a shit load of money to play a sport he loves?!
