'I’m going to be honest, the other day, Conte sent me a message saying he does not count on me for next season, so I’ll have to find a way out.'

Could have told him that in person, sending a text messsage is nothing more than a bitch move, sorry, but it has to be said.

It's a dangerous game the Don' s been playing. The likes of Lukaku or Morata are in no way better than Costa. There's a reason why the supporters keep chanting Diego, Diego, Diego. Finding a 20 goals a season striker will be difficult, mhh.

First of all, we dont know the story, we know a little portion from the victim, yes, victim, i'll come to that later on, so the way is of course as you said, a bitchy move, but maybe they spoke already about it since January, therefore, sending a text message confirming something they already spoke about face to face, isnt that bitchy, plus, Conte doesn't appear like someone who doesn't say important shit on your face, ask Terry when he knew he'll mainly watch from the stands this season, and also watch the captain's behavior. For me, this is just a way of making Costa appear as the victim.

Victim, why ? simple, I'd feel extremely un-happy, to say the least, if a player who I made a champion, speaks in front of the media, the way Costa spoke, its inappropriate, uneducated, classless move, you can leave a club in some better conditions, keeping a certain level of dignity intact, here, he sounds bitter, but why ? I felt this season, everyone - including a very abused Fabregas who had to painfully watch Matic doing a proper shitty job from the bench - spoke highly of Conte's man management, and if not, at least spoke of the passion and work which worked great this season by the boss. For me, Costa is a kid, with no class, and no balls, speaking in such a manner is a disgrace, especially because I remember Conte said that Costa was keeping goals for the last part of the season, when he was asked about the awful record he had in the second part of the season.Contrast.

Some of you need to just stop analyzing Lukaku or foaming at the mouth to tell everyone how inferior a striker he is.

Here's another way to look at things:

1. Chelsea are a borderline "top club" in the world, still (Conte, the board, and Roman can continue working to change this)

2. The quality of CF/STR just isn't as great in the current generation and/or defenders are more difficult to overcome due to their skill level

3. Lukaku loves Chelsea thanks to Didier and what he saw growing up from this London club. He is more motivated to do whatever it takes for CFC, unlike Diego

4. Lukaku is more physically imposing (or can be) than Diego ever could be

5. Conte can improve Lukaku, and so can our current and future squads with the money CFC potentially spend

People need to chill out and let things run their course. After all, the pool of talented upcoming strikers capable of setting the football world on fire at the highest level is rather small. Between losing this pathetic cunt called Diego and jumping to acquire one Kylian Mbappe, the club should find a reasonable compromise in a footballing generation that really isn't all that great in producing all-rounder footballers and deadeye strikers that punish defenders.

Costa: 'My relationship with the coach has been bad this season.'

My take on this is that according to Costa they didn't get along since the first minute, not much to do with january. Personally i think this narrative that Costa had been so poor in the second half of the season seems a bit too stretched. The numbers in goals regressed, but overall he was the focal point and allowing others to do their thing. Reminds me of how Big Benz is about business. Matic had some great games too, i wouldn't call his overall impact as you've mentioned: 'proper shitty job'.

If you look long enough, you can find a stick with whom you can beat anyone, meaning: not long ago Terry went to the media and started a public outcry of why he didn't get a new contract. I respect John Terry and what he's done for club and country, but when it fits his case, he'll do anything, similar to Costa. This time around it was best for him to keep his mouth shut -he's finished, so he happily played along.

For Conte it could've been over for a long time, but if you part ways, it should be done in person. You can spin it how you want, text massage is highly unprofessionell and that's lacking courage and balls for me. I appreciate how Conte acts like a hard man on the sidelines, but you've gotta live up to it behind closed doors.

What i agree with you on is that's a two way street. The inside knowledge is limited, most of us -me included don't know the full story yet. It's speculation, but because i think Costa speaks from heart and doesn't come across as someone who knows how to play his cards, someone like Fabregas, so far i'm valueing his words higher.

Funny how even if they have a transfer ban, the reporters keep asking him if Atletico is the way to go

Atleti's transfer ban means that they can't register any new player this summer but they can buy. Barca purchased Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal in 2015 the same way, they started playing in 2016 january.

If Atletico really want Costa and Diego is serious about Atletico too then it is possible.

Good riddance. I guess Conte was not expecting Costa to make this public though, and I hope it doesnt hurt any potential transfer fee.

My guess is that the club/Conte got tired of all the antics, both on the field and outside of it. You can tolerate it from a superstar, but Diego has not earned that label. In a way It makes me a bit sad as he he was such an upgrade on Torres, but we need someone more reliable. We are still a few transfer windows and stable seasons away from being able to compete for CL with teams like Bayern, Barcelona and Real, so getting a Lukaku that can help us constantly compete for the PL and cup titles is a good purchase for now.

While nothing is completed yet, there have been some loud noises about us signing these players lately:
Lukaku (linked with us heavily)
Van Dijk (linked with us heavily)
Mahrez
Tolisso
Bakayoko (used to be linked with us heavily)
Alex Sandro (mentioned several times from reliable outlets, indicating something is happening behind the scenes)
Dani Alves
Caballero

Based on this list it seems clear to me that the club know its weaknesses, and are working hard to fix them. Sandro, Lukaku, Tolisso/Baka and Van Dijk shows some real commitment to pushing the team forward, while the other names would help us with the width.

I have read a theory in a few places that the club would not make any signings official until July due to Nike stepping in then. From a commercial perspective it makes sense to have new signings pose in the shirts that are going to be sold, rather than shortly be made unavailable. The important thing is that things are actually happening in the background, and they seem to be.
