Everyone else also forgets Cuadrado played centrally like Salah has done in some games for Fiorentina but yet again only scored 3 or 4 goals there in half a season......

He's not a forward. Can't expect a right back converted into a winger to be an efficient goal scorer.

He was worse this season playing centrally, than last season when he was playing wide.

Not a RB, but Bale was in a similar situation.

How has he turned out?

The difference between Bale and Cuadrado is simple. One is a freakish talent capable of single-handedly changing games, the other is a solid right-sided midfielder

His argument was, a fullback turned into winger can't be expected to be effective. My point states otherwise.

Many a winger start off as fullbacks.

The same can be said about Salah, hes a right winger playing more as like a second striker or something like that but he is excelling in the role.

You can't just say Cuadrado was a RB now hes a RW so he won't score a lot of goals, that is the case with a whole load of wingers these days. People said Cuadrado would be an upgrade on Willian - who people say doesn't 1) score enough goals or 2) make enough assists - as he was more decisive in the final third (as well as being a huge difference in quality to Salah and Schurrle) without even considering what Willian does off the ball is vital to the team and that Salah and Schurrle hardly played as often as they could have.

More wingers become fullbacks tbh.

Yeah that is true but there are the odd fullback that become wingers. Also a lot of players who used to play center half become fullbacks, I'm sure Gary Neville said this was what happened to him on Sky Sports, Micah Richards was also the same and even Ivanovic off the top of my head.

What he was shouldn't be important anyway. What he is, should be.

There's an exception to every rule.

Using Bale as a stick to beat Cuadrado with is like Jose rounding up our 16 year old academy players and saying Rooney and Milner were ready for PL football at 16 so why aren't you?

This is the danger of scouting and buying players outside la liga and ligue 1 (the french league has been a gold mine for years). I'm willing to bet that if he returns to Chelsea, he will go back to being rubbish. I know i'm generalizing here but the trend is worrying.

I've been thinking about this too.

People from Spanish and french leagues do well here in England. The rest have lower success rate

That's not the case at all. They both started as fullbacks, and now they're wingers. That is a fact.
