🇨🇲 Samuel Eto'o

In some situations, where say the oppo are defending well and we need to be tactful to win the game Eto'o will come on, whereas if the oppo are commiting men forward and leaving a crazy amount off space in behind Lukaku will come on.

Huh? If the opposition are committing men forward and leaving space then why wouldn't we be able to score with just Costa up top? In fact it's been when teams defend deep late on that Eto'o has provided very little for us. Look at the West Ham game for example and how we could've done with a more direct presence in the box.

If we got Costa then you'd expect him to start 75% of the games, which only leaves 10 or so starts for the other strikers. We had trouble accommodating Drogba and Torres in a one striker system so having three just seems like overkill.

From Sammy's Instagram, two legendary sons of Africa in a single pic! :worship:

What these two guys could have done together, in their prime, in the same team is beyond me.

It has been widely reported by various reliable journos that Eto'o was Jose's no1 choice in the summer of 06 before Roman forced Shevchenko on him.

The striker, who has netted 10 goals in all competitions since joining Chelsea, refused to rule out the possibility of moving back to the San Siro despite a change in presidency since his time there.

"If (Massimo) Moratti calls me, why not?" he told Sky Sport Italy.

"I know that Inter has a new president (Erick Thohir) but Moratti is still there."

I think if Mourinho wants him to stay he is going to stay.. We can offer him more money and Inter is unlikely to play in the Champions League next season.

Don't think i'm the only one who's really starting to take a liking to him. Think he's got better as the season has gone on, and could still bang in a couple of big goals in the title race.

Said at the start of the season he could be a hidden gem if he could find half what he had at the height of his career.

Unlike Torres I still believe he has the hunger and killer instinct to finish this season off in fine style.

Only 'problem' next season if he stays is that he is on like £150k atm. Cannot afford that for a back up

How is that a problem???

We only need to comply with FFP. And we are doing that with FT (200), etoo (150) and ba (80).

Next seadon if our strikers are costa-lukaku-etoo then it would be costa (100-150), etoo (150) and lukaku (30-50).

Hence don't see how etoo would be a problem next season if he is not one now.

A strike force compromising of Lukaku, Eto'o and Costa as a squad could be really good.

Lukaku is going to be sold or loan again in the summer, you guys think he will be back up to whatever striker we sign? what has changed after 1 year for him if he didn't want to do that now? £20-£25m for him I think. Also the Torres issue, no one want him or at least paying him £175k per week so he will probably stay for 2 more years. His wages+ Eto'o+ big money signing and we got a massive problem on our hand.

lukaku is going to be sold? lukaku RIGHTFULLY seeked out a loan, not cos he wanted to be no.1 but cos here, he would have been 1 off the 4 strikers. he would literally not have gotten half the playing time that he has got for everton. things would have changed. he would be our super-sub plus 2nd striker.

here is the problem that we WERE facing with torres. http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/15057-9-fernando-torres/?p=861715

i dont think we could even afford to have sold him before this summer. but we can now.

hence, nothing to stop us from having costa-lukaku-etoo as our 3 strikers next season.
