The_Flash 1,144
If Etoo could just be consistent and score loads more goals like that, we would be further ahead in title race.I really don't think we will be bringing lukaku back he started season well then not so much. If we are going to pay big for big striker I can't see him staying to not play
Popular Post! DDA 9,941 Posted March 19, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted March 19, 2014 You didn't see it on TV last night but I was sitting in the West Stand Lower and Sammy kicked the ball out when Eboue went down in the second half. We all shouted and was like, W.T.F Sammy attack son. Then he walked over and signalled with his hands to calm down and pointed to his wrist as if to say.. time wasting lads, with a big cheeky grin on his face. Was fucking priceless and the West Stand burst out laughingWhat a geezer! Ainsley Harriott, Bir_CFC, kellzfresh and 21 others
Tomo 21,751
He's done very well but I'm not sure whether it makes sense to keep him as a third striker next season if we get Costa and bring back Lukaku. Costa would almost certainly start the majority of games and you'd want Lukaku to get enough minutes to continue his progress so I don't know if he'd get any meaningful minutes.Needs to start every match for the rest of this season though.I still think Eto'o will get his fair share off game time, if we sign Costa and bring back Lukaku im guessing most weeks Costa will start with the other two on the bench. In some situations, where say the oppo are defending well and we need to be tactful to win the game Eto'o will come on, whereas if the oppo are commiting men forward and leaving a crazy amount off space in behind Lukaku will come on.Having Costa, Lukaku and Eto'o would give us great tactical flexibility aswell as the perfect mix of forwards, one in his prime, one young and upcoming and one who's been there and done it.Also after what Hazard has said about how Eto'o has helped him, it could only be good to have Samuel around helping Romelu. Lukaku and Eto'o offer almost the opposite from each other. There are games more suitable for one than the other. Also nobody knows if Lukaku will be here or not. There are way too many rumors, Mourinho seemed quite annoyed by his comments earlier the season and I don't know if he won't choose Eto'o over Lukaku again. It depends a lot on whoever we sign as the main striker. Also Mourinho values a lot - as he should - the experience and the leadership Eto'o brings. Also even if Lukaku stays, Eto'o's presence is more helpful than harmful to him. I don't see the need to give Lukaku minutes as something we have to do every match. They could alternate in the domestic cups matches, the #1 striker as a starting XI with Eto'o as sub for home matches and Lukaku for away matches.I also think it's a big myth that Lukaku has a great impact coming from the bench - he just isn't physically resilient enough to start too many matches in a row, which gives wrongly the idea that he has impact coming from the bench. WBA managed him perfectly last season, making him be productive in general with him coming as a sub in most matches he's played, but the key aspect was the kind of defense he's played against. Who plays defensively against WBA? As a sub he wasn't making an impact for us, doesn't for Belgium, and I'm positive he didn't do it for Everton the very few matches he came from the bench. The challenge he's faced in Everton is only a hint of what he'd face with us: teams defending well against them. He had a spectacular start and then faded away (physically and technically). Now he alternates good matches and bad matches - normally good matches against shitty defenses. So while being #2 will prevent him from getting physically burned out, playing against teams that defend deep or tight against us at the Bridge doesn't fit Romelu Lukaku at all... then we need a goal, want to play with two strikers or has the main striker injured we'll play who? Fucking Torres? We should loan Torres for free and agree to pay half his salary just so we get rid of that big piece of shit. Demba Ba probably will be sold too - thankfully. The only place to be 11,313
In some situations, where say the oppo are defending well and we need to be tactful to win the game Eto'o will come on, whereas if the oppo are commiting men forward and leaving a crazy amount off space in behind Lukaku will come on.Huh? If the opposition are committing men forward and leaving space then why wouldn't we be able to score with just Costa up top? In fact it's been when teams defend deep late on that Eto'o has provided very little for us. Look at the West Ham game for example and how we could've done with a more direct presence in the box.If we got Costa then you'd expect him to start 75% of the games, which only leaves 10 or so starts for the other strikers. We had trouble accommodating Drogba and Torres in a one striker system so having three just seems like overkill.
