The Brazilian’s contract talks had stalled over his desire for a three-year extension, rather than an extra two years, but it is understood talks have since reopened. Willian has been in superb form since the restart and Lampard does not want to risk losing him on a free transfer to either Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur. It is believed Arsenal had put together a package to offer Willian before the coronavirus lockdown, but the financial impact of the pandemic may have altered that. Share Posted July 8, 2020 He looks at his best and this is definitely the type of sign me up type of form, but I don't know, I feel Chelsea have been in this position already for some times and not only Chelsea, but every club. Player hits superb form, player signs an extension and goes back to his old form and you are left with an ageing player on big money. Good servant but should not be kept past this season IMHO.
