After months of guess work over who will become Chelsea’s new number 10, the Blues made the inspired move of handing it to Willian. 1. His emoji game is on point

It is 2019 and no one in their right mind cares about results on the pitch anymore. No, everyone knows the game is won and lost on social media engagement and Willian is the king of that.

When Chelsea won the FA Cup, Willian celebrated by slapping a trophy emoji over Antonio Conte’s face. What a jokester that man is. Wait, that was his daughter? Well maybe she should be the 10 then but Willian can hold it for her.

2. Kids these days think they are entitled because of their facespaces

Speaking of social media, why is it that the youngsters Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic think they deserve the 10? What have they done to earn it? Get more followers on the Twitter?

These kids do not get to just get to wear an arbitrary number of which meaning has been assigned. No, they have to earn it through blood, sweat, and years of Twitter telling you how bad they are. That is the natural order of things.

Also Frank has said he hasn't been offered it officially but has stated a few interesting numbers are available this season, or were, 4 (although I think the chances are Christensens taken it after wearing it in preseason), 9 (although think Tammy is taking it) and 10 (would rather see it go to Ruben, Callum or Pulisic tbf).

No problems with this from me. It's actually just a year's extension to his existing deal and is not really much different to last season when Pedro signed a new one year deal very early in the season (August/September) I think to basically keep him for 2 seasons.

I'm hoping he'll thrive off the additional responsibility he'll have without Hazard at the club anymore and I also think he'll get more opportunities to play wide left or even centrally sometimes as opposed to wide right which will also hopefully improve his raw output. If he performs well then we have him for another season beyond this one to help ease the pressure on CHO and Pulisic as they mature and develop.

Or if we decide to sell him next summer he'll still have a pretty decent transfer value, probably around £20m.

As long as we upgrade come next summer and can get some fee out of him its all good.....but still a bad decision not to cash in when Barca came calling twice, bad call imo, 50M at least thrown out the window. Lets hope he does well enough under Lamps.
