Fernando Torres

Stop standing up for him Beirut it's really annoying because what he did was so clear. We have basically signed a squad full of playmakers to help this guy score and to play well but he seems to think it will come to him on a plate without him working hard. He keeps running into 3 defenders and loses the ball constantly, he then walks around the pitch not even bothering to close the space. The guy doesn't get involved in the game and that is hard to take for a club that has had Drogba for the last 8 years (probably only Tevez compares with Drogba when it comes to getting involved in the game as a striker) you must understand. No Chelsea striker has ever had as much support as Torres has when it comes to the bleeding management not signing a striker because they know he'll pooh his pants at any sign of competition. The supporters have given him support constantly since he arrived and the players around him are working like dogs to put it on a plate for him but what can you do when you have a striker that isn't moving off the ball and breaking his neck to get on the end of things ?

Dude - we MAY have signed creative players but we sure as fuck aren't playing them!

Yes Torres was a twat for storming off, but it could also be he is as frustrated as me at having a bench full of talent and he's gt Cech giving long balls, Ramires losing the ball every second and fuck all incisive play.

Yes Studge looked good - but was pretty impossible to look worse, even Heskey would have looked good :)

I still feel best thing for him and CFC is a swap for Falcao....

If I wasn't a member of the staff I wouldn't even bother reading this thread anymore...things said over and over again along with some idiotic posts.

The club gave him a chance. If he fails to use it it's bye bye, simple as that.

Could we lock it and start a new one?

And just for the record, my previous post wasn't aimed that much towards our members as much as it was towards Torres...I'm so...bored of him, his blonde hair, his diving and that you never know how is he going to perform when we play. Teams used to shit their pants when they would see him playing, now it's like he is just one of the bunch with a fancy name on the back of his shirt...

Could we lock it and start a new one?

Nobody forces you to read previous pages so it's rather pointless...besides, same would happen with the new thread.

"Didier is not here anymore, so there is more responsibility for me and I'm ready for the challenge," the 28-year-old admitted in the Daily Star Sunday.

"Now, I am looking for new personal targets, like getting as many goals as possible - hopefully more than in my best season at Liverpool."

A busy summer in the transfer market has seen the revamped Chelsea squad talked of in terms of winning the Premier League for the first time since 2010, and Torres is keen not to let last season's momentum slip.

He added, "I think all the fans are excited about the Premier League again, after a couple of years of not winning the trophy.

"So the Premier League is a big target and maybe we can become the first team to win two Champions Leagues in a row.

"I think it's a good time - especially for me - to give something back to the fans."

Not again.

Let's not get on his back though just after he had one bad game. It would be best to wait until January and then analyze things without making a big drama.

One bad game? I can seriously say that he has been bad ever since he came here. He has rarely been really good and mostly when he has been good it has been good compared to his shit performances.

I think what Shonex meant is:

1) this thread is huge

2) lets try and keep discussions current - e.g. This season... :)

Torres had scored in his previous two Premier League games before Saturday's clash but Blues boss Di Matteo defended him, saying: 'No player is happy when they come off, it’s not a problem. I just wanted to make a change.'

^ Roberto is too diplomatic to comment about this in public, the journalist should have phoned Eddie if he wanted a candid reply.

The real impact of the Spaniard's action on Roberto (if any) would have to be gauged from his lineups from now on.

As of right now the simple question is who is the bigger attacking threat?

The answer to that has to be sturridge..

You could say well he only had hazard behind him and we still haven't seen how he plays with moses, hazard and mata behind him... But danny looked lively.. He got the ball and kept hold of it whilst trying to create things. All i remember torres doing is losing the ball after hazard has taken it from the halfway line.

Bottom line we should just go with who is on form. Right now its Danny. Torres could make some big appearances from the bench and win his place back. Danny deserves a chance.

You can say Torres hasn't done anything, but as stupid as this sounds, if he never of won that corner in the CL Final, we wouldn't of won it.

Yes. He won a corner for us in the CL final so he pretty much won the whole thing for us!

If Ashley Cole hadn't made that clearance against Napoli....we wouldn't have won it.

If Cech hadn't made that penalty save against Messi....we wouldn't have won it.

I could list a hundred other examples. What a completely stupid argument.

Torres supporters will find any excuse in the world to defend him. It is ridiculously annoying. Just STFU already. If the best thing you can say about him was that he won a corner for us in a CL match then that says it all really. We paid 50m for him so that he could win corners for us that other players could score on. Just great.

Fuck off, without that corner we would be in the Europa league without Eden Hazard and, God forbid, Juan Mata. Deal with it.
