Fernando Torres

Hardly a surprise to anyone but if even half of that is true, then Liverpool have reached a new low. Endangering the career of their 26-year-old star player who at the time was still the best striker in Europe just for the sake of a few games, without even telling the player what's really going on is disgusting. Also them delaying his record transfer to Chelsea until the very last minute so that we couldn't do a thorough medical analysis on him is something I wouldn't have expected even Liverpool being capable of doing. Liverpool truly are the most despicable club on earth.

Sorry I can't read what this is about but I'm really interested.

Would highly appreciate you explaining to me from the beginning.

Thanks

I don't know why, because i know it will end in disappointment, but for some reason i had the same feeling of expectation that i had at the start of the season with him... It;s absolutely crazy because we went through every game for like a year where i kept thinking this will be the game he turns up. But the feeling is back again....Brace for disappointment... :(

please will u all stop bashing this guy. he is the best. i mean dint u guys see the way he fell down every time he had the ball or that he was dispossessed almost every time he got it. and now even our coach says that "he is trying so hard and only needs more chances" . so please guys its the other 10 players' fault and not torres' fault alone.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK

I see Torres as a cancer that is slowly eating away our club. How we're so dependent on this flop goes beyond all logic. I'm not saying this as a result of today's performance, it's what I've felt for a long, long time.

Mainly, because we all know he CAN'T do what we expected him to do for the price that was paid. For whatever reason, his legs are shot. His style that made him so successful was centered around pace, movement and reactions; he no longer has any of these attributes. An injured Kompany out-paced him today for God's sake...

When I see Torres, all I see is a flop that has cost(s) us:

1. £50 million - Enough said.

2. £150k a week - Anyone know how much we've given him in total? I'm actually terrified to find out.

3. 3 managers - 1 in Ancelotti who is world class. Including all of their compensation fees.

4. 2 Strikers - Anelka and Drogba. Not including the likes of Lukaku going on loan.

5. Super Frank - Let's face it, as much as I am a fan of Oscar and Hazard, they were brought in for Torres and now Lampy has been sacrificed with those acquisitions. Call me sentimental, but today's type of game needed Frank. (I know he's injured, but perhaps he wouldn't be with more playing time)

And most importantly of all I feel:

6. Time - We have wasted an awful lot of time on such a magnificent flop. From time on styles of play and formations etc., all attempting to get the best out of HIM, instead of the TEAM, to time that could have been better spent by giving players like Studge, Lukaku or youngsters a chance. Now we are about to waste more by adopting a style of play (Mikel doing very bad Alonso impersonations etc. etc.) that just won't work because it is to suit the Torres we paid for, not the one received; not fast, indecisive and timid.

I know that, the way things worked out, we won the CL, which I wouldn't change for the world. However, if this guy is still here at the start of next season, Roman is either the most stubborn bastard in the world or he needs to be checked into some sort of institution, because the whole world can see we don't have a forward. The sooner he's gone and replaced, the better for the club.

I'm not sure about Falcao, because people are saying he needs a certain style of play, one we might not be able to supply. But what I do know is that we need someone the opposite of Torres at the current moment; someone who is adaptable, plays to the TEAM's strength, young and hungry to succeed; be it Falcao, Lukaku, Cavani, Lewandowski etc.

He also said this to be fair

''I am not trying to build a team around Fernando, I am trying to build a team around a striker, a second striker and the wingers, and Fernando is the striker at the moment so we create for him. If it is Daniel Sturridge or Victor Moses, we will do it for them.'

Let's all hope Roman has had enough of him, so we get a new striker in 40 days..
