Popular Post! Waterfall 893 Posted September 29, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted September 29, 2013 He played a good match, but Mourinho's comments afterwards were kind of disgraceful. This is a red card. Chelsea player or not.So was your Belgian compatriot Vertonghen. Could have easily gotten 5 yellow cards yesterday.1 for dive of the year1 for starting an altercation with Torres who at first wasn't even interested 1 for tackle on Ramires1 for shoving Torres 1 for faking a head injury to get Torres sent offI swear 1/3 of MOTD was Tottenham dominating the first half, another 1/3 was Chelsea dominating the second half, and the other 1/3 was Vertonghen being a cunt over and over again. You know he got away easy when Villas-Boas didn't even bother going on and on about the ref like he usually does.In fact, I'm disappointed Torres only managed to "scratch" Vertonghen. I would have punched him right in the face after that disgraceful dive. And that audacity of his to get in Torres' face when he fully knew he dived to get a call!By the way, what a game by Torres. I've been his biggest skeptic* but I hope he continues to show the fight he showed today. And if Vertonghen does something stupid in front of him again next time, I hope he does the right thing and get sent off for doing a legitimate offence, not this scratch nonsense. * I bet more than 90% of my 592 reputation came from Torres bashing. Stats 7,142
It is like every time Torres plays well in the league he has to mess it up someway or another.. Against United when we lost 3-1 where he scores a brilliant chip over DDG, he then goes on to miss an open goal. Against Swansea when we beat them 4-1 a couple of seasons ago he scores a brilliant goal after a brilliant dink over the top from Mata and then gets sent off and yesterday was playing excellently and then once again gets sent off More of the same Torres please without the altercations with other players and one thing I hope to see in the league soon from you, goals Green Lantern18
CHOULO19 24,332
Looking at the incident again on MOTD, it look as if Torres didn't actually clip Vertonghen. More like a dive from him.Vertongen went down when he thought that the ball had got away from him and even if Fernando did touch him, he over exaggerated. Popular Post! BlueLion. 21,491 Posted September 29, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted September 29, 2013 Torres didn't even clip Vertonghen. The ball was going out for a corner, Jan knew he wasn't going to get the ball, so he threw himself to the ground. It wasn't even a convincing dive - the delay was embarrassing. If that had have been at the Bridge, he'd have been booked for simulation. Vertonghen got Torres sent off; no doubt about it. The only place to be 11,313
Great game but fuck me if scratching a player isn't embarrassing. Chelsea player or not that shit is just unacceptable, but it was nice to see some passion and confidence from the guy. He needs to maintain and not let it be just another false dawn. BlueLion. 21,491
He shouldn't have done what he did when he raked his hand across Vertonghen's face, but Torres at his best at Liverpool was a petulant bastard. Sarcastically clapping the referee and getting all fired up like that is another glimpse that the old Torres is in there, somewhere. We just don't see enough of him. I still maintain that if he can put in the sort of all-round performances he has in his last three starts (Bayern, Swindon and of course yesterday), he is the best option we have up top right now. It's early days with Eto'o but we have to be realistic with him - whilst he adjusts to life in London and the pace of English football, is Sammy going to be able to compete with these performances by Nando? I don't think he can, being brutally honest. I hope I am proved wrong, because two forwards playing decent football means better competition - and that's the only way our striking options will improve. That's not what Chelsea supporters expect from their players. It never has been, it never will be. It's sly and it's not our way.
Feroze 487
Do you mind explaining what part you dont agree with? A very good performance is what the likes of Cavani, Messi, Ronaldo, Zlatan etc usually perform. This was, like I said, a standard top-striker performance. We're just not used to see it from Torres whats why we go like "WOW OMG".He gets enough shit, because 95% of the time he IS shit. Its not undeserved criticism he gets. When it comes to Nando I am very biased but the reason we paid 50 million pounds for Fernando wasn't just for the goals.. heck then we would have just signed a poacher. Nando isn't a poacher.. when he was in form don't think there was a striker better than him at that time. He just flew past players like they weren't even there.. VERY similar to his game against Spurs. All bias aside.. this was his best performance in a blue shirt definitely.. but Cavani and Zlatan wish getting past defenders like that.. sure they will get wonder goals but the way he just was running at defenders yesterday was absurd. So quick, direct, that's the Torres of old.. I'm not going to say "OH HE'S BACK" etc.. because I personally thought he lost a lot of pace but out of nowhere he caused so much havoc for the Spurs defence throughout the second half. As Mourinho said, "That's the Torres I want to see for the rest of the season" : http://www.marca.com/2013/09/28/en/football/international_football/1380385819.html

Now dropping him would have been fine - even Nigel Spackman managed that and he was a bit of a beanpole.

Had it been suarez doing that, what would all of u say?Yeah Torres played well but fuck him for getting himself banned. He always finds a way to fuck up. He absolutley couldnt calm himself down.. He brought it on himself. didi007
