🇪🇸 Fernando Torres

any examples of all of these 20-30 yard screamers he apparently scored for Liverpool?

Arsenal in the Champions League quarters/semis where Liverpool won 4-2 IIRC, Liverpool 4-0 Blackburn, Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea. There was quite a few more as well but look at some of his compilation of goals and you would see that he scored some fantastic goals at Liverpool

Absolute worst case scenario is that Torres stays shit untill about early December, he starts banging in goals leading us to trust him to be the main striker again. This continues through January meaning we see no need to buy a Striker. Then on the 1st of February the switch turns off again and Torres returns to being shit for the rest of the season...

Somehow, with our luck with Strikers, I can see this happening. :(

none of those goals were from 20-30 yards out! virtually all of his goals have been scored from inside the box.

I dont know why people love Torres more than Sturridge. Sometimes i have a feeling if Sturridge was our main striker and if he was shit people would blast him more than Torres.

Just like when Sturridge was a bit of selfish people blasted him etc. No player is bigger than the club remember that , if Torres plays shit than put Sturridge in he is also a member of the team.

No it wasnt. Look at his goal against Blackburn which was out of this world and his goals against Arsenal was from that range mate. When Liverpool beat us 2-0 I am sure his second goals was from a distance but even if it wasnt I know it was a very clinical finish. Has not scored any kind of goals here in the same calibre of his strikes at Liverpool

Because for some reason people seem to think that Danny is selfish. A statement that isnt valid what so ever. For some reason people think that its wierd that a striker (natural CF) wants to score goals. I can understand that however, as they seem to be a Torres-hugger, and as we know, scoring goals what he's known for lately.

I noticed some things that make torres look bad.

"When drogba gets the ball, he brings it down, bullies the defender with his strength and fires a ferocious shot or passes to the incoming malouda in the wing.

But torres, you just know he is going to fall and lose possesion because he is only looking to dribble instead of linking up with his teammates or creating space and shooting QUICKLY LIKE OSCAR OR LIKE THE LAST GOAL HE SCORED FOR LIVERPOOL AGAINST CHELSEA.

God help him the day sturridge gets his chance and plays a lot better, even the chelsea teammates will lose patience with him.

He needs to link up with passes instead of dribbling and losing possesion, he is no messi."

Torres doesnt have a style of play. He plays in the wings today, he stands in the front without moving tomorow, he tries to dribble through 3 defenders and loses the ball instead of just passing in the next match.

Watch falcao, This is his style of play.

1. he comes deep to recieve the pass, passes it, then makes a run foward for the through pass or cross

2. He could also stand with the defender raise his hands just up for the midfielder to give him the through ball and start making a run for the pass. (even when the midfielder doesnt give he doesnt just dissapear but tries again)

3. When he is marked he pulls the defenders away and PASSES THE BALL TO THE WINGER OR MIDFIELDER and runs back incase of a one two.

Dilemma

The last time i remember torres making a run to recieve a pass is against newcastle and hazard passed to him.

If you were a midfielder you will have no idea how to play with torres because he doesnt have a particular style of play.

He used to make runs in liverpool and gerrad finds him with long balls but now he just stands straight.

Only big strikers like Drogba and Ibrahimovic should stand straight and recieve ball since they are big enough to not fall down all the time like torres <_<

Smaller strikers like tevez, aguero and villa pass back to the midfielder quickly and run foward incase of a one-two pass.

Solution

1. Torres should hold the ball to his feet and pass instead of trying to dribble and looking for the foul.

2. I hope oscar has taught torres how to shoot without looking at the goal just like drogba (torres is a freakin striker SHOOOOT)

3. Torres should pass when surrounded by three players instead of trying to do everything on his own He loses the ball more than anybody in chelsea(sometimes because of peter cech) he is starting to look like suarez in my eyes.

4. Torres must make runs or he will score less than 20 goals fact.

5. Torres should scream or point(like villa) to the midfielder where he wants the ball to be played instead of just hoping they can read his mind :readthemessage:

6. Peter cech should stop hoofing the ball in the air for torres, he is no drogba he cant win any ball in the air against any defender thats why chelsea dont score with headers again.

Perhaps that is in fact a strength (?) i.e. UNPREDICTABILITY

Has this helped so far? He is unpredictable even to himself, he's in internal war with himself. I agree with the OP, his style of play looks chaotic. It's worrying that the coaching staff haven't managed to sort it out in almost 2 years.

He must avoid another goal drought at any cost, because I don't think he can survive another one. I am eagerly waiting for Oscar, Hazard and Mata to be integrated into the team. If he doesn't perform with those chaps, then he's done. But let's wait at least till January, we have no choice, it's still early in the season and it's far from the worst he could have. In all honesty the whole team hasn't been performing well in last 3 games, and Torres isn't the kind of guy to turn up when everybody else doesn't.

The real problem is that he is shit and i'm done defending him. I thought that he would get in-form and score goals. But 2 years is more than enough if you ask me so give Sturridge a chance.

Its so annoying. I play football too so i know what im talking about. I see how torres moves and as an attacking midfielder i will be confused on how he plays. Not even mata could unlock his scoring potential so i dont see any other person except iniesta that can help torres score at this moment

Hence the question mark in parentheses.

Well I don't know if I'm the only one, but he showed his will to play and fight yesterday. He just can't dribble past 3 players which are covering him and that's his problem.

When he dribbles past one, he should pass the ball. Thats his problem, it looks like he has desire but he fucks it up in the end. Did you see how quaggurella made the run to score chelsea for the second goal? Torres has never done that since he missed that open goal against manchester united. That is the only way for smaller strikers to create chances, making runs behind defenders. Torres just stands straight and expects the ball to come, the only runs he makes are to the wings so how can he score?
