Azpi is often targeted with high balls.

That was showing in the spurs game I'm surprise clubs having target that against Azpilicueta more when the ball played on ground there's no better Defender than Azpilicueta in the air he's awful

When Christensen is back next season, how about we have Azpi as the LCB? Makes sense to me as he's much better on the ball than Cahill.

He seemed to struggle a bit in the one game he played at LCB this season in the fa cup. Could just have been a one off though.

Is it just me or is Azpi very limited going forward ? He really struggles to get the ball out at times and ends up hoofing it back to Courtois.

Yes he has never been that great going forward with the ball, but he is still decent enough, especially if you consider his great defensive contributions. His strengths are his good positioning and fore-checking, both attributes that allow us to retain the ball and keep possession when we are under pressure.

Cahill on the left side is much worse on the ball and is really struggling to get our game going when he is pressed by the opposition. Then again he gives us height which is really important against the likes of Stoke or WHU for example.

That effectively means Luiz has to build up our game from the back which he has done brilliantly so far in my opinion. His long passing is extraordinary for a centre back.

I don't know if it's possible for me to disagree more. Azpi's passing this season has been superb; a lot of our build up play is generated through him.

Azpi is limited as an attacking RB, but as a RCB his understand of the position and passing ability has been a revelation.

Agree with you and@manpe. He takes the ball and dribbles forward with it quite often. That automatically makes the defending team adjust their position. It opens up more space than is easily seen.

He's brilliant at taking it forward in to the space and finding the right pass. And more often than not, it's the right pass. It creates a little overload on that right side, and is especially important when we are attacking with numbers.
