The Skipper 20,609
You and your excuses, you obviously don't realize how pathetic you sound. That wasn't an excuse. Not going to respond further because this post is just retarded.
xPetrCechx 13,570
Lampsy should sit on the bench, he just cannot keep possession.Lampard? Mikel Can't!!! stupid fouls ( with the stupid smile after them) and ball losses.
blue_swaggin_96 96
hazard is reall sharp, the only thing he was lacking today was the physicality around the pitch, i felt against teams like stoke he will struggle alot!oscar was great! i love his balls .. no homo.. his passes are what torres and mata needs. TrippingStep 336
Other than 3 pts, not happy AT ALL!WTF is wrong with Cech and the back four?! Pass! Not hoof it over! Didi is not there anymore!Cech isn't that type of goalkeeper unfortunately.
We Hate Scouse 10,326
Positives - Clean sheet, 3 points, Hazard and Oscar both look fantasticNegatives - Torres looked terrible, Ivanovic was poor, Cech played a lot of poor balls

Jase 43,479
A very average performance all around once again. Can't keep the ball. Can't cross the ball. Pathetic. On the bright side, we won, kept a clean sheet and got that 3 points to stop the recent run of poor results. Really need to build on this against Reading and Newcastle.Good debut by Hazard too. Named the 'Man of the Match'.
steve_n17 31
And you know this how exacly? Your attitude is really pissing me off.Sturridge's atittude pisses me off. Selfish, greedy and moody.
Ryan Fong 2,776
Seriously, I'm not saying Torres played very well, but at least shouldn't be blamed. Most of the "passes" he got were from Cech's hoofy goal kicks ffs, what do you expect him to do? Jump like ironman hold the ball with his chest dribble past defenders round the goalie and slot in?! Las7 951
Didn't say Torres scored 40 goals. But Torres can score 40 goals if he stays in form all season and gets a couple of goals early in the season. Sturridge will never achieve that. Not a world class winger and not a world class striker. Torres shattered the Liverpool goal scoring record over two years I believe. Strikers very rarely get injured or tired, he should play 90 minutes in every game and if we're losing the attacking midfielders should be changed untill they give Torres a decent chance to score. Not long balls and late through balls.Torres is past his best, he might have been able to score 40 goals in Liverpool had he been injury free - when he was really one of the best strikers in the League. The time of Torres being a top striker in World Football is gone, I don't think you've watched enough of the current Chelsea FC striker Torres and what he was at Liverpool. Simply he won't ever reach that level - Sturridge in his first season at a top club playing a new position managed to out score him, more evidence for him becoming a 40 goal striker than Torres.Torres is a striker similar to Owen, with pace gone it's all a downward slope as he continues to be more and more just a finisher up top relying on our midfield to setup clear chances for him. Had he had his old pace he would't have been muscled off the ball for his first 100% chance - he would have the Wigan defender snatching at his heels. While the second chance was just another time where he failed to make the needed position to score goals - something that would have never happened a few years ago but is far too commonplace for Torres nowadays. Manuf 1,448
Good game by TorresHe had like 1 shot? Or two? If he was a defender I'd say that was good but for a striker he's a fucking disappointment.Great result, particularly considering those of Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool yesterday. Just confirmed what we knew, Eden Hazard is a star. Torres led the line well and was unlucky not to score. Mata played very well and interlinked with Hazard brilliantly. Mikel and Lampard looked pretty solid and improved in possession in the second half. Luiz was excellent at centre back as was Bertrand on the left flank. Oscar also with an encouraging cameo, a few flashes of quality, a sure sign of things to come.Very good start, always nice to pick up 3 points in your first game and encouraging signs for the season.Once again what did Fernando really do? Agree with the rest, especially that Hazard and Mata bit.
Ryan Fong 2,776
Cech isn't that type of goalkeeper unfortunately.Unfortunately you're right, he is a great ball stopper but not an intelligent footballer, plus the back fours didn't help. Hutcho 8,443
3 points are 3 points... 1 game this week done 2 to go then we have 3 weeks where we can have the whole squad with all our new transfers present and future together and given time to get to know each other and gel together... If we can get the results this week then we are on the right path...
Miguelito 459
Cech isn't that type of goalkeeper unfortunately.its not hard to change kicking the ball extra far or making a simple short pass. its not like he has a bunch of pressure on him at these times.that being said the defenders have to make themselves available
Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
if we're going to soley coubter im fine with that. you cant expect to have best of both worlds, with that being said we should be able to press teams when JT&Lamps are resting. Pressing with those two is nit going to happen. thats only way i see us holdong possesion for 70fikin minuetes like the lot of you want, expect and fukin demand. i have no problem countering thw shit out if teams, gotbus 2 quick goals today all we needed. then we turned it on last 10 mins, and we nearly got 2 more goals,,,also, if you cant appreciate this win then something is wrong with you. people arent 100% all the time. Tomo 21,751
Can i just say something that has been bugging me for a while.Every time we beat a "lesser side" we keep hearing "if that was a top side, we would have lost", it annoys me. United have many of those type of games, as do City, as do Barca in La Liga, the fact is we weren't playing Barca we were playing Wigan and we won 2-0.
