Oscar

Think it's probably safe to say that Benitez doesn't really fancy him and in turn is ruining him here!

For once, I was Abramovich to interfere. Benitez needs a good kick up the arse. Oscar needs regular playing time. He's ruining the brightest talent we have for fuck's sake.

I'm am getting more and more annoying with Benitez for not playing Oscar. You could argue that he should have started instead of Bertrand today (who wasn't spectacular by any means). If not, then he should have at least come on when we were 3-0 up. Instead, Rafa decided to take off Mata, bring on Paulo Ferreira and go to 5 at the back. That baffled me, to say the least.

No. Oscars played few good matches under RDM, and for me he was one of the reasons the team lacked strength and dynamism in the mid. Oscar should play some matches, and stay on the bench in others. He is not ready yet to be a obvious choice for a starting XI eleven.

I agree to some extent. But it's not as if Bertrand is a midfield dynamo. He also offered sweet fuck all in attack or defence today.

I'm not suggesting Oscar deserves to be a guaranteed starter. But not playing him at all is going to massively hamper his development. But I'm pretty sure Rafa couldn't give a fuck about Oscar's development as he knows he's more than likely going to be gone after this season.

This wasn't the match for Oscar nor Marin because it was predictable on Rafa's part to protect the attacking fullbacks from your typical Stoke counter with a defensive player in the attacking third like Bertrand or Ramires so he can get out with a clean sheet and nick the game. Having said that yes with the match totally out of reach who cares about a late Stoke goal if Oscar can play

Stoke is a very physical side, Bertrand adds strenght to the mid. To be fair its really rash to say Oscar is not playing under Benitez, ne was a starter against Swansea and QPR. What I dont undertand is the reason why he loves Moses so much.

But it's not as if Oscar shies away from a challenge. He seems more than happy to get stuck in. He's also much better on the ball and we would have had more possession in the first half if Oscar had been playing. We were lucky not to go 1-0 down in the first half. I just thought that this was the perfect game to start Oscar in. But I guess opinions will always differ on how we should approach a game.

I think Rafa plays Moses a lot just to provide width. He's also great a crossing the ball, which would be helpful when Ba is playing.

Stoke doesn't counter. They have zero goals off the counter-attack this season. Not saying Oscar should have started, he's been pretty poor lately, but it's not as if Bertrand was needed to cover Robben and Lahm.

He has been playing out of position but he has quite a way to go to reach Hazard and more specifically Mata. He is very young though.

When we bought him we expected him to take about 2 or 3 seasons to really get going. His excellent start and CL performances made us lose track of that and start expecting too much from him. He's going to need time.
