The ONLY reason Sturridge never flourished in Chelsea and that we sold him is due to that blonde cunt. If he wasnt with us, Danny would have played ALOT more as CF and show people how it feels to have a CF who can actually play.

I watched him probably twice with liverpool. When he picked up the ball his first instinct is to take on player and his off the ball movement is more about moving into channel. For us, we need players like RVP, Lewandowski, or Rooney who will drop deep and link up with our midfield.

Not so much that the many times he had chances to pass and yet would take a chance himself when it was pointless and clear it wasnt going where he wanted.That may have been due to wanting to prove he did have the skill etc and show why he should be playing.If he had cost us 50m he'd still be here..just didnt work out and really they got the better end of the deal.Cant see him turning crap anytime soon...cant see Torres turning good anytime soon

precisely my point. also u answered urself there. he did those "selfish" acts to show us that he was the real deal. i saw today's match and the match against stoke and pool's last 5 fixtures of the last season, and i would not say sturridge is "selfish". he would take a shot if he thought he had a 10% chance of scoring but thats what strikers are supposed to do. i honestly cant remember when ba or floppes last scored from outside the box. sturridge on the other hand has the confidence of taking the shots.

also there is no point of him "turning crap"... he was always a good striker with a potential of something really special. he has the knack of getting on the score sheet which is exactly what you want in a striker.

I've closely followed Sturridge since he was around 16/17 and believe me, he definitely has the capabilities to be constantly dropping deep. Watch the game against Villa actually, even his goal you'll see he isn't the furthest forward player when he receives the ball. I actually think he's best as a second striker, behind a main striker because his link up play is and always has been good, but he has the potential to be a more complete striker as he matures.

Sturridge is in the mould of those players and that will be more evident as he develops and matures. I personally think that after Rooney Wilshere and maybe Carrick he's probably the biggest English talent out there atm.

sturridge can hold the ball better than torres and ba.

his movement off the ball is what makes the space for any midfield. i mean watch him and coutinho playing together. ultimate example of it. also NO, we dont ONLY need a striker who drops deep to recieve the ball in midfield (like rooney, rvp as you stated), we need some directness in our play which is what you get with sturridge.

also his link up play is brilliant and any1 who has watched pool's last 7-10 matches will tell u that.
