Well. Some times ago, the Club signed a player who scored all those important goals against us, who was once a rival team's legend, and as a matter of fact, wasn't really loved by Chelsea fans (to say the least). However, the vast majority of fans didn't complain back then, and look at the huge fans-base that he had, and still has, during his career at Chelsea.

I presume you're talking about Torres, personally i had huge admiration for the way he played, i found him exciting to watch and i've never been excited by Van Persie. I also don't dislike Liverpool nearly as half as much as i do Arsenal, and i have always enjoyed victories over Arsenal and seeing them fail more than i do with Liverpool. As for Ashley, he was great business and i never had to endure him scoring against us and seeing him score for Arsenal so often.

you do have such a low opinion of our fans ,,, and such a high opinion of yourself

It's the last straw that breaks the camel's back.

And you, you are just a sad man who is lurking around on this forum in order to try and stir up arguments with members. You didn't understand my post, and you obviously didn't even want to understand it. You don't even bother to state your opinion, to explain to members, that you disagree with, why they are wrong. You only mock them, offend them and try to stir up arguments with them. Having a debate would be a way more civilised to state your disagreement. First you did this with Terminator X, then with Henrique, Justin, Sloth/Kojo and now you are seemingly trying to do this with me. If you're dying that much to go into petty arguments, I advice you to look for someone else. I ain't your man. I won't bother to lower myself to this childish and imature level. No need to reply me back.

Exclusive: Ferguson makes RVP peace call to rival Wenger over United's move for ace

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2187937/Robin-van-Persie-transfer-Sir-Alex-Ferguson-Arsene-Wenger-hold-talks.html#ixzz23Zw772rX

seems like Man u really really want RVP and not some bullshit rumors. would be force to reckon with up top if they do get him, reports say Fergie trying to buy him but through good-will, whatever the fuck that means! last time i checked a trasnfer was so that your team could get better, no other intrepretation. man the media are definately SAF's bitch.

so what is it: oh wenger i want your best ST, who was the anchor to you team last year. so dont take this wrong way and send him over here, we will still be pals...right?

never knew transfer had to be politically correct aswell.

Does he? Football fans are generally fickle, only have to look at the number of times people want us to "sell him he has lost it" comments posted on forums.

If he goes UTD then we need Cavanni...

If RVP is 220k week - we just need him for 1 season and then sell him on again - we need to make the CL spot and a proven goalscorer / link-up man is what we need.

FFS Nasri is the biggest piece of shit I've ever seen, yet the little cunt has scored against us twice now! (same will happen with RVP if he goes Utd!) Wish he would get his legs broken, if I ever met the smug faced little prick, I'd not hesitate to smash his face in!

Anyway, back on topic :D

I agree that we'd need more goal scoring reinforcement if they got RvP. We saw how dangerous that City team can be and they weren't even at full strength, and if United add a player of RvP's class while we have only Torres and Sturridge as options at front, I just find it very hard to picture us being there with those two clubs.

Doesn't have to be Cavani, but we NEED more to challenge for that title.

Yeah, not sure what other options other than Cavanni there are tho?

I agree - we're looking a bit light at the moment, the only positive is that the move is weakening Arsenal and strengthening Utd.

If our aim is top 4 finish - then it could actually be slightly beneficial - although does mean a larger gap to the 2 x Manchester clubs (not sure how I feel about that, it's a gamble...)

I guess we'll find out on Sunday!

In all the world our only option for attacking for squad depth is a £35 million player? Really?

In London alone we could nab Defoe and RVP. Both are proven scoters in the PL and would offer us squad depth, we don't need a superstar wanting to play every game. IMO.

Let's hope he turns out like Berbatov did then..

To be honest though, I don't see how he'll fit into United's system. With Rooney playing that fake number 9 role, constantly, Robin does seem the type of forward United need. Welbeck & Rooney work so well as a pair because Welbeck isn't that main CF, his movement & pace allow him to link up with Rooney a lot better than Berbatov. It's why Hernandez plays well with him too (except the latter can't score outside the box )
