So if Hazard is best at the 10 role, why are we going for him rather than do Maria? Unless I'm wrong.

Because : It's just what he prefers and he's actually a fantastic winger (and that is what he has been playing 80% of the time at Lille and the national team)

Why cant two good players play together even if they are somewhat similar? Silva and Nasri, towards the end of the season, really started to tick. Fabregas and Iniesta occasionally play together for club and country. Hazard has shown with his country that he can play as part of a fluid system, that he doesn't just have to occupy the space behind the striker the whole time.

It is funny because the Belgian team had both Mertens and Hazard in it and they are both really similar players. Also Dembele is a bit similar in playing style so where Andy Townsend has got this idea from, I don't see how it is going to be a problem....

Lol...he seems to be comparing them like Torres and Drogba..

He did give Gerrard the MOTM on Saturday, didn't he? Tells you all you need to know about how brainless Andy Townsend is as a pundit.

Thanks for posting that...Should probably be made into some sort of sticky note, so as to prevent more questions regarding the transfer.

exactly! Once the deal is done lille have no reason to try and stop chelsea announcing it. It WILL be announced when its complete. It just won't be an official move until the 13th I assume
