Zinedine Zidane wants transfer of Chelsea star as first Real Madrid signing – and it’s not Eden Hazard

Lolz Kante signed a 5 years extension in November. For 400m he can leave

I think he's 100% gone, sadly.

Reports are that Zidane would only return if he could rebuild and mould the team in his vision. He'll be able to sell his targets on being part of bringing Real Madrid out of their slump and starting a new generation.

Imagine your in Eden's boots and your idol comes to you and talks about his ambitious project that he wants you to be a part of. No way he says no.

Of course for us it comes at the absolute worst possible time. Transfer ban, very likely scenario of no CL football, uncertainty about the manager. Combine all that with the fact that he'll only have 1 year on his contract. It's either sell him in the summer for half of what's he's actually worth or force him to stay and anger him. Then he walks for free.

Just think about how catastrophic it would be if Hazard asks to leave and we can't sign anyone to replace him or strengthen other parts of our team with that money. Yikes...

You want a nightmare scenario

imagine

the deferral appeal to CAS gets turned down, so no summer 2019 window

FIFA appeal on the bans is turned down, then CAS appeal on the bans results in an extra window being tacked on

Mueller Report in the US is loaded up with impeachable offences against Trump (not in itself a bad thing, a good thing), but it also shows flat out Russian collusion, and the West goes full out sanction Cold war v Putin and all his money men (of which Roman is at top of list, or near top). Roman feels mad heat coming, decides to liquidate then sell the club.

Real offers £250-300m for Kante and Hazard

Roman accepts (as he is going to sell the club anyway)

He also refuses new contacts to Luiz and Willian, so Luiz walks on free and Willian is sold

CHO, despite basically being guaranteed a starting spot or at least a shedload more time, refuses to renew and is sold.

We literally have no window at all until summer 2021 at that point to replace anyone, other than loan callbacks, who, if Roman is liquidating, will be sold too (Bats, Morata(he is gone anyway if AM want him, per agreement) Bakayoko, Zouma, etc. Hell he may sell the only other great youngster we have, Reece James

Club is sold in Spring 2020, but nothing in terms of buys can be done for over a year.

At that point, we will be struggling to be in top 10 in league. If we also lose Higs (still not a guarantee we can renew his option for another 12 months loan, and he would leave in 2020 summer anyway, as we cannot buy new players (even loaned ones) until 2021) we would only have Giroud and Tammy for CF's.

GK, Kepa, Wille, Bulka

CB's would be Rudiger, AC, Tomori, Jake Clarke-Salter, Trevoh Chalobah

LB Alonso and Emerson

RB Azpi and Dujon Sterling

DMF Jorginho, Ampadu

CMF Drinkwater, RLC

AMF Barkley (who also would have to play CMF), Charly Musonda, Mason Mount

LW Pedro, Kenedy

RW Pulisic, Victor Moses

CF Tammy, Giroud

a few key injuries, say 2 or 3 of  Jorginho or Rudiger or Pedro or Pulisic or even Azpi (as no Reece James)

thats a team that will struggle to stay 10 points or so clear of relegation zone

Real will probably sell

Nacho £30m

Marcelo £40m

Álvaro Odriozola £40m (Hakimi comes back so no need for 3 RB's and he is FAR better)

Luka Modric £40m

Isco £80m (they have James coming back and can sell him are buy another if they wish)

Marco Asensio £90m

Gareth Bale £85m

Lucas Vázquez £35m

Karim Benzema £35m

thats almost £500m to play with (they have some scubs to sell too), plus they will dump in another £300m or so in pure cash

Plus they may sell Kovacic too, so toss in another £40m or so

Zidane can do a shit tonne with £800m plus (any one could, BUT its ZZ and RM combined again, so the biggest draw in global football)

they could buy

Neymar £250m or Mbappe (£300m)

Hazard and Kante package deal £250 to £300m

Icardi £100m (per his release clause) or Dybala or Werner for around the same, of Jovic for far less

Matthijs de Ligt (£90m) or Koulibaly (£90m) or Skriniar (£80m) or Éder Militão ( a steal at £45m release clause) at CB

Alex Sando (£60m) or Junior Firpo (£45m) or José Gayà (£45m) or Alex Telles (£45m) at LB

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (£80-90m) or Houssem Aouar (£60m) at CMF

Pablo Sarabia (can get him on a free, THANKS BOARD, you pack of cunts, he was only £15m on release clause, but then again, I think he refused us)

all those would cost £750 to around £800m or so

it could be done

they haven't spent shit lately and have HUGE (biggest in world football) revenues, so FFP is zero problems for them

that is nine out, BUT nine (counting Rodrygo their teen potential superstar winger/striker from Santos) coming in (Kovacic is a wash)

I am really freaked if they go for Kante on top of Eden, as they have the cash to do it

I absolutely love Hazard, but dont you guys think our over reliance on him is the reason we have regressed so much as a team in the last 3 years? Yes his arguably Chelsea's best ever player but I am with Sarri, he needs to move more off the ball, Hazard is a ball hog (an excellent one by all means) however I think letting him go might be better for us in the medium to long term. We need to reestablish an identity. All the great Chelsea sides (the ones with Lampard, DD and Terry did not have this over reliance on one guy and had a system) I remember winning important games when Drogba, Lamps, Terry or Ballack were not playing. We need to go back to that philosophy were the greater sum of the team is better or more important than one person's individual talent.

We were not over reliant on him for goals when Costa was in full swing at the club.

Nor were we over reliant on him for creating chances when Fabregas could send defense splitting passes.

I see your point, and maybe his style of play is not a 100% match for Sarri.

But all our problems are because of the lack of good support.

Conte drove out Costa (his tantrums are well documented, but it was the manager that exacerbated it. How many times was Drogba on the verge of an exit before 2009?) , and now we lost Fabregas due to Sarri's lack of proper rotation.

Did not see that coming. Reduces our chances  to keep Hazard even more. Had hoped for a Mourinho comeback There.
Mourinho to make a masterclass 3rd time is a charm comeback to safe us! he will make Cahill captain again and we will clinch the title with a higuain and pusilic masterclass next year!

It is debatable whether spending 100m+ for a 28-year-old as part of rebuilding the squad is wise. Real Madrid have plenty of holes in their squad that they need to plug.

No, the over reliance on Hazard is a consequence of our regression not the reason. We over rely on him because there's noone else to step in and take some of the burden.

The reason is lack of investment in quality players over the years while the few times  when we have invested big they just haven't panned out as we hoped.

You mean against championship sides in the cup and the likes of Malmo and Dynamo Kiev. Piss poor opposition.

If he does leave, then it might at least break the vicious cycle of over-relying on Hazard, be it from the board off the pitch and the team on it.

Yeah but people are naive if they think we will be a better team. In the end all it matters what version of us is better. It doesnt matter if its Hazard FC or team Chelsea FC, I dont mind us being Hazard FC if we get better results.

Real fans thought their club will be better because they will play as equal team once Ronaldo leaves, but look what happened. Some teams work great as unit, ala Liverpool and some are better being dependant on one key player. We are the later because the rest of our squad simply doesnt have the quality. Maybe Willian, Pedro, Higs,...will put better performances once Hazard isnt here anymore, but that doesnt mean in the slightest that we will actualy win more games.

If we could spend Hazard money on two quality players, thats another thing, because it would be more future prood, but due to ban we wont be able to do it for another year. Though even here more questions arise; if there are true quality players available, can we afford them, do they want to join us and is board even competent enough to pull it off.
