Essien19 1,415
I'm not a fan of KdB but boy is he creative. For my taste a bit too risky but if the player receives the ball, bad things will happen. I'm with @Stats Stats
BlueLyon 9,359
Well you have Iniesta and Lampard. KDB is alot more like the last. One is a playmaker, who dictates tempo and orchestrates team with passes. The other is alot more direct with all round ability to do things on his own like score or assist. KDB is creative, but just because he has alot assists, he isnt maestro like Pirlo or Xavi... Nevermind KDB is damn good player but he sometimes goes missing and when he does, he offers almost nothing to the team. On top of my head I remember one of his assists for Aguero against Newcastle last season which was a defence splitting through ball. He done another great through ball against Bournemouth when Sterling got a hattrick. Now if people are talking about he does not build up play, his assist for Aguero's second goal against us was all started and created by him right? I don't know his assists were at Wolfsburg, but as well as a lot being from set pieces, I can guarantee you a lot of them were probably from good sense of creativity which involved defence splitting balls etc. This is how City's webpage describe him: "Kevin’s creativity and eye for defence splitting passes and crosses prompted City to sign the Belgian international in the summer transfer window of 2015/16." I'm not saying he isn't capable of playing a throughball every now and again but if you look at the assists he's had the large majority of them are from set pieces and crosses from wide areas. Playing 3 successful throughballs in a season doesn't make him a creative player. Also, he only seems to be able to pull off those "defence splitting balls" when the opposition is playing a really high line (or when it's a counter attack) and there's acres of space in behind. When teams sit deep he just isn't capable of "splitting the defence". He just isn't a creative player. When facing a deep defence he has to resort to crossing balls from wide areas or take shots from a distance. He just doesn't excel in those tight areas where creative players work their magic.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibkc_L8KIJA All De Bruyne's assists for Wolfsburg in 2014/2015 season. Couple of through balls (on the counter attack). Majority are set pieces and crosses from wide though.

If KDB isn't one, then we're talking about like what, 5 (!!!) players in the game that are CREATIVE ? LOOK AT THE BROADER PICTURE GODDAMIT AND NEVER LOSE THAT SIGHT. Who's creative then ? Silva, Messi, Ozil, James, Mata. Don't throw Neymar, Di Maria, Payet, Hazard, Suarez, Coutinho, Mkhitaryan, Isco at me. Because we all know they like to attack at pace just like Kev. So we have that high number of 5 (!!!) players in the world that can be claimed as "creative". And De Bruyne isn't creative because he doesn't check all the boxes of being one. Just great. Oh, I forgot about Pastore. Everyone would want Pastore as AM over Kev because he is textbookishy "creative". Hope Wilmots plays him there. Hazard on the 10 just adds a bit more schwung to our attack. Also thought De Bruyne looked better when he was moved to the right wing and had a bit more space to express himself. kellzfresh
