There is big talk of Neymar going to Madrid, not only that but Vinicius JR is playing all the time so I am not sure where Hazard fits there in all honesty.

They could easily switch Hazard or Vinicius to the right. They in dire need of a world class player. Hazard and Neymar also play same position so same thing applies really.

He'll be off in the summer, but with another anonymous performance when the team need him most, I'm not sure it'll be to the likes of Real Madrid.

I can't fault his effort tonight, but you need your leaders, your best players, to bring the fire in shitty situations like tonight. He tried, but failed to produce anything in 90 minutes.

It does matter because all of these are situational. I agree that things like this have happened and will continue to happen, and that loyalty isn't what it used to be.

But like I said, it is not just because he loves Lille. There is so much more behind it, which I explained in my previous post. And yes, I honestly believe that if PSG is the only club that comes in for him, he would say no. His interviews and attitude and character and care for his family and honestly his lack of drive at times all point towards that. I think he cares more about enjoying football and life than winning all the time (I find this refreshing, although a better middle ground would be ideal).  And it's clear in his mind that is either here or Madrid.

I agree. Real is the only club in the world he would left Chelsea for.

Hazard may not be the leader everyone hopes for...but just consider this,..

From a Chelsea team that boasted as many as 6 national team captains playing together at one point...we only have one on the team right now. And that's Eden.

Very reflective of what's actually happening on the pitch these days,..IMO

Reports: Real Madrid not keen on signing Eden Hazard

https://www.sportskeeda.com/football/reports-real-madrid-are-not-keen-on-signing-eden-hazard?key=newsnow

It is now likely that Eden Hazard will remain at Chelsea next season, rather than join Real Madrid, in light of the Premier League club's transfer ban. Unable to sign a replacement until the summer of 2020, Chelsea will not sanction the Belgian's sale. (Marca)

What a player.

"Chelsea will be better off without it." WTF :middlefinger:
The worst part is still having to read that kind of thing. There are certain fans who will only value when he leaves Chelsea (I hope never).

Hazard, and to a slightly less extent, Kante, are the only two players on this Chelsea squad that can be compared to players from Drogba and Lampard's time.

If they both leave, we will be joining Arsenal to look hopefully at top 4.

I have to hold my hands up and take back what I said about Eden mid game yesterday. I was fuming that he didn't seem to press in the first half. I thought he was disinterested but now I do believe it was either Sarris instruction or his own idea to preserve his energy. Second half onwards he was electrifying. Top man.

Top class mate, was a bit annoyed yesterday but understanding your opinion at that time. If you see the difference in fatigue between aguero and Eden at the end it looked miles apart to me.

They did indeed. The diffence in the second half between the two sides in fatigue showed. City were physically done by extra time. If we had abit more quality in the final third we could have won.

From my perspective it looked like Hazard was tasked with the job of marking Fernandinho, thought he did a good job. I look at the amount of touch and pass the Brazilian complied on this day it was considerably less than he regularly enjoyed.

wrong

I am not exactly sure what conclusion he is attempting to draw. KDB could have a shit game or not even play like he has for roughly most of the season and City would still be fine. In fact KDB has started in 5 PL games this season, and 2 of them were losses. He has been involved in 3 of out of 4 City league losses. Their record is astonishingly better without him.
